I’ve been through it with narcissistic people my ex husband I met at 27 we were together 17 years engaged years and married 15 married years I never knew what narcissist were until the last couple years of our marriage. Boy did I find out the hard way. We’ll long story short he wanted a divorce after I caught him cheating with two others had us in huge debt behind my back and completely treated me like dirt at the end. He almost destroyed me emotional mentally and financially. But I healed 5 years, found out what I didn’t know learned all about the npd personality disorder. I’ve also taken care of my bedridden mother who is also very narcissistic, with dementia so it’s been a long long journey at 66 I’ve seen it for what it is. They can be so heartless and mean, emotionally uncaring no empathy unless it’s out in to impress others. Well the hell I went through has shown me so much, so many tests and trials, but lots of wisdom. I’m sorry I wasted so much time at my age, but I found me. I’m going to be ok and even though mom still lives with me and I’ve cared for her 13 years it’s ok. You have to learn to let it roll right off your back. No arguing no defending your self just stand in your truth and let them hang themselves. Let the haters hate. The best thing you can do is love yourself and get through it and not let the empath in you get hurt. You know what’s right and what’s wrong. God sees all let it ride. Roll with it and keep yourself.
