Please let me vent. We've all heard of cancer. And to the ones out there that have battled against it. I wish I could climb through this phone and hug your heart. Because wow. I just recently lost a best friend. A first crush. A 1st everything. She was fighting stage 4 colon cancer. And I sat so close to that girl for her remaining days and hours of life, I cry hard tears as I write this. And as she hurt. She was looking at me. And telling me I'm the strongest person she ever met. That i'm going to do amazing things in life. She said she never has to worry about our son, because our son has me. Making me feel unbelievable as a person. Like superman if you will. Hospice care was here for 8 hours a day. Then we cut it down to one hour a day because Christi and I wanted to do it all ourselves. Just to stay close. I didn't like moving out of the way so somebody else could care for her. Even though I really did appreciate it. Vitas did a great job caring for Christi. But I wanted to be the one close to her at all times. I would just lean into her so gently. And feel her weight lean against me. And we would just sit like that. And I would whisper to her how much I loved her and how amazing she makes me feel every time I'm in her company. Truly the most beautiful girl I ever met in my life . I'm just amazed on how she made me feel like a superhero, as she dealt with the pain of cancer. I love you my friend. Don't ever take life for granted. And if you love someone. Tell them often

Dear Jonny, I am so sorry for the loss of your beloved Christi. Those moments that you had together towards the end of her life sound like a precious gift. You sound indeed like a superhero. @@do9138 I'm so sorry to hear that my friend. At times things do feel extra lonely. Makes it even harder. But I hope time helps. the important people who deserve to be in your life. Will come into your life. I know it's hard. But try to be patient. And believe. Thoughts can do wonders to our lives. Especially positive ones.

Hoping someone can help us ,my boyfriend have non hodgkins lymphoma ,where done in chemo but cannot proceed to radiation because of financial problems ,hope its not too late Now i live him alone to work and save for his radiation Please help us

You don't have to be a trained facilitator to know that everyone's experiences aren't yours. I'm 9+ years out from diagnosis of stage 3 hormone positive breast cancer and I founded and admin a breast cancer support group online. I, MYSELF, know that, because I am 9 years out from breast cancer and have watched other survivors in other groups as well as my own. I often comment, in the threads, that everyone has their OWN journey. Some may have harder side effects with various parts of their journey while others won't. I also work hard to foster an understanding that everyone has a different background or set of circumstances. Some are older or younger than the next member. Some are mothers or grandmothers where others may have no children. Some are single. Some are married. Some chose to have implants, some chose to remain flat, some chose fat transfer (flaps of various names- diep, tram, pap, etc). Most people have to have their posts approved before they go through to the support group page, unless I've become familiar and comfortable enough to trust that they won't spam or share things that need a better tone.
