As Candace Owens converts to Catholicism following her departure from The Daily Wire why are more young people turning to some form of faith, and are the critics of this right when they claim that religion causes most of the conflict in the world?

I'm 22 now, I abandoned my Catholic faith for years and get into Progressivism, and sinful destructive lifestyle then I went to a spiritual retreat, I had a supernatural experience with Jesus in Eucharist. Without even believing on him, I thought it was only a symbol, Late at night, In the middle of a prayer, the lights turn off, and a priest start walking into the room in silence, Carrying on the Blessed Sacrament. I started to feel like a sort of Acute pain and burning inside my chest and stomach, I fell to my knees and start crying, without knowing what was happening. Then I hear that voice, so loud and loving that said, *” keep going, I'm with you” I'm healing your soul" “do not fear”* After that happened for around 3 minutes, I felt the biggest Peace and happiness I ever experience in my entire life. I don't know how to describe it, I just felt like floating in heaven. He changed and save my life. ❤ ⚪ 🏆

I became Christian this year after being a lifelong atheist. One day I was listening to the women on the Whatever podcast and it just hit me: This is Sodom and Gomorrah. Not in the literal sense, but I suddenly understood the fundamental lesson in the story, that when promiscuity is the standard and shared structured morality are lacking, society deteriorates. I started reading The Bible shortly thereafter. I’ve never felt more grounded.

I had a similar realisation in the last few months. Although I still don't believe in a God, I realised the teachings in the Bible are important for the survival of society. It teaches the importance of cooperation, kindness & discipline so that society can peacefully survive. I made the connection after seeing how the Amish live their lives. I think religion itself is the carrier of these teachings. So the ritualistic practises engrain the teachings from childhood & that continues into adulthood. Without religion, people seem to stray far from these teachings & then we end up with a society where families struggle to survive like they are now.

I was raised Catholic, but stopped practicing in my teens. I turned away from my faith for many years. But now, in my late 30s, my two children chose to join the Catholic Church at ages 9 and 11, and received the sacraments of initiation this past Easter Vigil. Inspired their example, I have returned to my Catholic faith. The three of us now attend Mass together every Sunday. I am so blessed to have such great children. The world needs Jesus Christ. God bless you all.

I’m 51 and born in a Catholic family. Over the decades I tried to leave the church for various reasons. From blaming God to my past drug addiction. My mother told me to carry the rosary in my pocket at a very young age even if I don’t pray the rosary like my family does. It’s crazy, no matter where I’m at, what evil I was doing, the rosary was in my pocket, like my wallet, I didn’t even think about it. It was just a habit. But one day, When I wanted to end my life at the edge of a cliff, felt the rosary when I reached into my pocket to grab my lighter to have one last cigarette. Well, something came over me and touching the rosary made me climb back over the rails. I basically saw Mother Mary with tears running down her face with a gentle smile. Anyway, It was past 3 am and went to the church knowing all the doors were locked. Well, one door wasn’t and I entered the church and slept in the church till I was awaken by someone working there. “How did you get in? I locked all the doors?” I smiled back at him with tears in my eyes.

@@minui8758if you study the history you learn that the historic Church is the Eastern Orthodox Church with 4 bishops not the Rome who proclaimed 1 bishop (pope) as the representer of God which is blasphemy in itself. By the way, Chrisianity comes from the East of Europe so going towards East is ALL ORTHODOX CHRISTIANITY: FROM JERUSALEM TO CROATIA IS ALL ORTHODOX. The Catholic church is the only one persecuting Orthodox Christians to convert them (e.g Romania, Chech republic and Poland) and killing people through inquisition. There is no such thing in the TRUE CHRISTIANITY. That is why the reformation started. I recommend you the interview and book of Fr Josiah Trenham: Rock and Sand. All the best!

@@julytan223 I like to think I wouldn’t leave the Church of Rome even under torture and threat of death much less by persuasion - I’ve read Clement’s and Ignatius’s epistles from the first century which to our scholars seem to have direct reference to a primacy of the Roman bishop ahead of Alexandria, and Antioch and by Petrine supremacy even jerusalem. Constantinople is a rather younger See of course. It’s a long time ago but I recall understanding why that is a plausible interpretation placing a precursor to papal supremacy in the first generation of the church after the apostles - and the entire history of east west relations post 10th cent is horrible we know, the Catholic St Josaphat Kuntsevych and the martyrs of Pratulyn and hundreds besides being part of that story too - it’s to be lamented. Beyond entrenched mutually understood points of disagreement tho and the martyr scores on both sides there is a huge amount of shared spirituality, theology, and a fundamental shared faith. I think that’s where fruitful dialogue lies, as happily Rome, Constantinople, Antioch, and the Copts have increasingly shown in the 20th cent

The beauty and genius of the Catholic Church, the Church Christ founded, is the universality. My husband’s niece married a Hungarian ( we are Nigerian). We travelled to Budapest for the wedding, days later, I attended Mass, without understanding the language, I followed Mass effortlessly. My parish in London has Filipinos, Indians, Irish, English, Chinese, Ugandans, Ghanaians, etc etc. It’s beautiful to see and reminds me that Heaven will have people from every corner of God’s earth.Catholicism is the fullness of Truth.

Because to perfectly adhere to those avoids all sin. Tradition is good. Even atheist historians will tell you that. It’s the way to keep the timeless teachings of Christ in context. And also not everything Jesus did is written down as John 21:23-27 shows. Because there wouldn’t be enough books to encapsulate all his works and teachings. So do those teachings not exist? Cannot they be passed down by word of mouth ? Didn’t Jews not all have the scriptures but remembered them by heart and traditions by heart? The New Testament wasn’t written yet when the apostles went and preached to the nations, so what did the apostles teach then?

Absolutely! The Catholic Church, instituted institutions of knowledge - universities, hospitals, and continuing the endeavor of studying the world around us. From Sir Isaac Newton to Bach, we have a rich history of intellectualism that has contributed much to our modern world. Those that leave the church often do so without having studied early church fathers, church history, the catechism of the Catholic Church and scripture in itself. The presence of Christ in the holy Eucharist is only in the universal church and thus I hope and pray for the reunion of all Christians! Christ did say those who did not eat his bread. Boy was I wrong!! After 2020 and all of the trans stuff at schools I decided to start them into RCIA last year and they have learned so much! I sat there on the floor of my house alone crying and balling like a baby repenting and calling to Jesus that I believed God came down as flesh, died for all of our sins so that whoever believed in him could be saved. It happened. I trusted he rose and I felt this almighty weight, warmth and I saw and heard God holding me saying it’ll all be alright. Since then there has been a slow but gradual pull and change. I don’t enjoy the material as much anymore. I can’t watch horror or gruesome stuff. I cringe when I hear Gods name taken in vain. I'm not Catholic but I will always be greatful for what the Catholics did in my country (South Africa) during our darkest times. Catholics were one of the few groups that stood up to the Apartheid government. They provided medical treatment to black people, provided quality education to black kids (this was illegal), refused segregation and housed many black people who were wanted by the Apartheid soldiers or lost their homes due to the Group Areas Act. They provided food and clothes to many families who lost parents, incomes or had parents jailed for standing up to the government. The Catholics should be proud. I'm methodist but under Apartheid, we were very divided and to this day, methodist churches across Southern Africa are still racially divided.

@@justice100forwin2 These are some really great questions! As I was scrolling through the comments, yours just seemed to jump out at me. Do you mind if I ask if you are a believer? The questions you're asking have some deep theological components attached to them. So, I'm going to try to address them from a Christian worldview and not necessarily a secular worldview if that's okay. First, I think it's wonderful that you've been asking God to reveal Himself to you. I know that sometimes it may feel like that must come in the form of a great sign or wonder, but God often shows up in ways we don't expect either. For instance, I personally think He revealed your comment to me as: I just so happened to have this video show up on my recommended feed that I just so happened to click on when I don't even watch Russell Brand or Candace Owens that I just so happened decided to scroll through the comments and I just so happened to expand the comments under this thread and I just so happened to see what you wrote and felt compelled to respond to it! For many, that's just some coincidences, but for me, I think it had purpose. I do want to encourage you that God does promise that if we seek Him, we will find Him (“Ask and keep on asking and it will be given to you; seek and keep on seeking and you will find; knock and keep on knocking and the door will be opened to you. Matthew 7:7 Amplified Bible)! Belief or unbelief doesn't always come with a feeling, it's sort of like love in way - a lot of times love is a choice. Even believers experience times when they don't feel like God is showing Himself to us (I've personally felt this before too), but when I look back on those times, I can see the way He had actually been there all along, I just wasn't sure what to look for. It sounds like you might already have been studying more of the Bible (your mention to Deuteronomy) searching for answers. A sign or wonder might not have drawn you to His Word in the same way, but the seeking is what has (if that makes sense). Even in Jesus' time, when He was performing many miracles and even after He rose from the dead, many still didn't believe in Him. The early Israelites literally followed a huge pillar of smoke and fire every day and night, watched the Red Sea be parted, and had bread rain from the sky, and over and over again they doubted God or turned to other gods. I think it's easy to think that we are so much different than the early Israelites, but they are the perfect example of how fickle we are as humans. Yes, it wouldn't make much sense for God to create people and not do anything with them for 250,000 years - I completely agree! However, this is a view of humanity from an evolutionary standpoint (which is understandable), but the Bible gives us many genealogies and historical timelines leading back to the first humans created, Adam and Eve. Based off these timelines, they would have been created roughly 6,000 years ago, and God interacted with humans during that entire time. After the Flood, God called a specific man (Abraham) to be the patriarch of what would become the Jewish people. The ancient Jews were supposed to be a sort of priesthood set apart from the rest of the world, representatives for the One True God to the rest of humanity. And from them, a savior (Jesus) would come to save the entire world from their sins and reconcile humanity back to God. During the time of the ancient Israelites, many prophets lived and were the spokespeople so-to-speak for God to the people. After the last prophet passed away, you do see a time period of about 400 years where there are no prophets to the people. God does seem "quiet". But cosmically during this time, God is setting the world stage for Christ to be born (the Jews are allowed to return to their homeland, the Greeks conquer the known world and the Greek language becomes the universal language of the time, the Romans then conquer the world, created peace, and created roads and laws that made travel and the spread of ideas easier than any other time in history, the Jews translate the Old Testament into the Greek language, making it readily and easy to read by anyone). After all of this is completed (making spreading the Gospel message possible throughout the world), Jesus is then born. After a believer accepts Jesus, they receive the Holy Spirit into themselves, who now guides them and leads them in their lives. We no longer need the kind of prophets the ancient Israelites had because we have direct access to the same Spirit when we believe in Christ. Does and can God still perform miracles today? Absolutely! I've experienced one personally myself actually! But with the sacrifice of Jesus, we have this direct access with Him now. I hope that makes sense. And to your last point about God being jealous or angry, think of it in this context. If a wife were to cheat on her husband, we would expect him to be jealous or angry, right? This person who he has made a sacred commitment to and that he loves, has decided to cheat against him. We wouldn't think he was bad for being angry about that - and that's a human. God is jealous for us in the same way, He loves us and doesn't want us taken from Him for things that are false gods. And the ancient Israelites - His chosen people - literally chose other gods so many times it's crazy to think about honestly. We also have to remember that as a perfect God, we can't place imperfect human emotions on Him. Since He is the author of the entire story, of emotion itself, His emotions are perfect in a way that is truly difficult for us to understand. And yes, God was so empathetic to us that He came down in the flesh to live among us. To be like us and feel the things we do and experience the things we do because He loved us that deeply. He didn't have to do that. And the death that He willingly experienced - as an innocent man - on our behalf so that we could have a right relationship with Him - is the most loving thing that has ever been done. I'm sorry for such a longwinded response, I hope this potentially sheds some light on a Christian perspective of your great questions! I would encourage you to keep seeking!! And maybe start that seeking in the New Testament, particularly with the book of Mark or John, as it's a bit easier to understand than the Old Testament when understanding God's character and love for us. I pray for blessings, clarity, and peace over you and your life. I also pray that God WOULD reveal Himself to you in a mighty and undeniable way. In Jesus' name, amen.

I became Christian after having an encounter with God/Jesus in my garden, on a very normal day. His presence descended and into every atom of the atmosphere, every grain of sand, every leaf, every ray from the sun, all around me, the atmosphere became so impregnated with His mighty Presence and this love that I have never experienced before, yet felt like home. Then His words came through "Child" in that moment I knew, every cell in my body knew it was God and everything is true, God, the Bible, Satan, everything is true and I could not stand anymore and fell to my knees and wept. The realisation that all my ego, all my thought, all my strength was not even a pinprick against the mighty and living God. I was so humbled, I could not believe that God could find me in the but end of the world, but this is the nature of God, no one is left behind and He's love is for all. It is not an easy journey being a Christian, you have to pick up your cross daily and you experience true suffering and because you experience true suffering, like Christ did, you can alleviate the suffering of others through your empathy that you develop. I wish you all the best on your road Russell. Put on the armor of God everyday and pray the blood of Jesus over your home and your loved ones. The devil is going to try his best to weaken you and make you doubt and put things on your path to tempt you. As long as you have the armor of God on you can shield the attacks, in the meantime the heavens rejoice! Amazing grace! how sweet the sound, That saved a wretch; like me! I once was lost, but now am found, Was blind, but now I see.

Yeah but the trends that have been ongoing right now are beginning to change in a big way in multiple areas of our modern society - because it's becoming painfully obvious to "normal people" (...normies) that this way, isn't working very well for us. I guess I've heard tell (from Catholic Radio for the most part) that it's been on the decline for a very long time, but some communities (I forget church terminology very quickly, sorry) have been seeing surges of newcomers to the faith - didn't Covid cause an uptick? I deliver pizza, and I've been listening to EWTN on and off for a few years now while working. I was kind of glued to it during Covid. Well, I certainly hope that's the case, because what we've been doing definitely hasn't been working well for us. That much is true. I'd love to see more of a focus on God and gratitude. The world really would be a much better and kinder place.

Quick testimony: I grew up in an atheist family, often considered myself agnostic. Struggeling with the darkness of the world, severe traumas throughout my entire childhood, addictions, I craved spirituality. Started seeking in many places, new age, Buddhism, uncategorized spirituality, etc. etc. Never wanted a warm blanket or crutch that was fake, untrue though. And my final test for truth is always to live as a believer, see what happens. I ended up where I least expected; in Jesus Christ. Looking back I see His hand reaching out all my life. I feel that's what our beloved Russell Brand will do now too, live as a Christian, put it to the test in practise. Good for you Hunter, ignore the idiotic comments - they show their true spirit when they open their mouths.

I searched for happiness... And you can never find that... Cause there will always be pain and sorrow. Until i decided to take my faith seriously (Catholicism). Once I did that- I have never found so much peace & contentment & I have never found so much love for something beyond me (the LORD)... I didnt think that was possible. When i think about it.. i feel so small... And how lovely is that... Our Creator has our plan... And we need to constantly trust Him.. through our joy and sufferings... Whomever is reading this- spend sometime im adoration! It does wonders :)
