This is beautiful! I see a lot of KZbin channels showing small town festivals, but you explained what it all meant beforehand and added notes on the video so we know what we're seeing. Thank you so much for the background and showing us so much of the tradition there!

I don't know if you ever used to watch Global Village on SBS but this almost felt like an episode of that. I could hear Silvio Rivier's voiceover in my mind.

Looks beautiful, I hadn't heard of this particular festa. The choir was particularly nice, in Sardinia you also have throat singing, like Mongolian throat singing, it's quite extraordinary. One festa in January is Mamuthones di Mamoiada, a pagan style, ritualistic dance that looks frankly terrifying!

Thank you - your series will help a lot to get exposure for Sardinia . Sardinia does not get the attention from the Italian Tourism authorities it deserves - even some stands of Italy at Tourism Exhibitions in Europe did not even have Sardinia on the Map. My niece who owns the Alghero Country Hotel and her husband were furious. Especially American tourists need to be made aware of Sardinia because they know Sicily from WW2 and the American troops landing there. Keep up the good work.

@@millerwtf ah thanks so much for saying this! I’ve heard this comment a few times now and at first, I was nervous to mention the town’s name because I thought maybe people wouldn’t like the publicity but now people are telling me how awesome it is and how proud they are that I’m sharing their beautiful island with my followers on the internet. I think some people are scared that it will create an influx of people (it gets pretty busy in the summer time), and that can create problems for the island as it’s important to respect nature and maintain the beauty that is here. Honestly though, I think the people are so proud of Sardegna that they want everyone to come here and see it! I am starting to become a little braver and share more about this place I now call home.

how tricky it must be to get these tall candelieri up and keep them straight! I guess a lot of people are working all year round to the festa. I have seen some feste in Tuscany and have always been amazed how the locals celebrate. Thank you for sharing! (just to let you know: the footage of your intro was of poor quality, probably your internet connection was not working properly)
