I am a dark skinned black women and when you said what that man said to you as a child my insides turned upside down and tears came to my eyes as if I were a child again. I know the pain if growing up and being ridiculed because of my skin tone. I am over it now because I love the skin I am in.

I always said undesirability afforded me the ability to see people. I’m still reconciling that, but it’s still a knowing that is undisputed. We see people and we hear them. It only takes a few seconds. I literally feel that Candice is on the money and has been living my life. Only difference is I was born and raised by lightskinned women, so the inferior complex started early early. As for the commentary regarding black American women and sisterhood, it’s still a reflective of your share. Yes we will big each other up and yaaaaaassssss, until we don’t. I get that ever culture has it’s flaws. Candice shares so many gems that I wish I shared more on. Maybe I will start. May our wisdom render us the love and wealth we deserve!

I was reading something and it basically eluded to the fact that Black mothers favour their sons because its the first male to truly love them unconditionally, I was like bullshit but then when you let that digest you do have to agree Also I love KZbin for suggesting this conversation to me ❤

We need to be more candid in this community. Statistics and anecdotal perspectives will show that if you are seeking someone who builds, protects, provides, actively fathers and marries BW, BM are not (at large) doing that. BW have "held it down"/been the "ride or dies" for hundreds of years, yet you know it is not reciprocated to the same extent. If you happen upon one (which is possible, albeit scarce), go for it, but let's not shame BW for going where the love is, or raising thier standards, expectations and boundaries as other races of women are allowed to do. Don't let them shame you into choosing better when it's their toxicity largely at fault - psst... it's a patriarchy - the condition of a community is a reflection of the efforts of the men. Unfortunately, the goal post is always moved for BW. Do you, and remember, if someone does not appreciate you for you, please do not lie down at the alter of BM worship attempting to do more. They know that if we realised our excellence, we would look outside the community as they often do unapologetically, although these unions usually have a poor success rate, too. I say from a place of concern and love for the sisters in the community ❤ There is only a scarcity if you limit your own options.

I love hearing her talk. So much transparency and realness. I felt like she was reading my mail. Furthermore just like her I am too the Black Sheep of the “family” and “community”. On another note I felt her when she said we need a tsunami to wipe us put. Sigh, but it should be a tsunami for colorist Black men.

I am having the same dating experience that Candice had and sadly the same social experiences. Being told that I am prettier in the winter when my skin gets paler. Having my nose pinched. That God for my loving parents and loving family that kept me sane. It is more important for me to be loved well by a man rather than being loved by a black man living as a dark skinned, curvy black woman. Colorism sickens me. I am not equipped to deal with it. I am equipped to deal with racism. Black people treat their own so horribly some times. I love who loves me. Period.

THAT'S A PICKMEISHA THAT'S HAPPY SHE GOT PICKED. DATING BM👨🏿👨🏿👨🏿 IS NOO WAY EASIER THAN DATING 🙍🙍🙍. BW💁🏿‍♀️💁🏿‍♀️💁🏿‍♀️ LIKE HER ARE SO DELUSIONAL, EVEN HAS SHE EXPLAIN THE HELL 🔥 SHE WENT THROUGH AT THE HANDS OF 👨🏿👨🏿👨🏿, SHE IS STILL DUMB & BRAINWASHED TO SAY ITS EASIER TO DATE 👨🏿👨🏿👨🏿.

Found these wonderful ladies on tiktok and ran here to subscribe! Get ready for the increase in subscribers to your channel wishing you rapid growth and much success. I am a 56 year old black woman living in the UK and the black men in my city have disregarded us since the early 90s so many of us have either been in bad relationships with the wrong black men or single. They are not an option for us to even look at never mind consider because they made it clear to us years ago that they don't want us! Sad to hear that it has filtered down into the next generation. Keep up the good work ladies 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾❤️

I can't believe in 2023 we are still having these convos about dark skin women. What's not to love or like?? The black community need to stop.
@Coco-uk9tv
@Coco-uk9tv 8 ай бұрын
It's nearly June 2024, and these conversations are needed as long as they are needed, because it'll take generations to shift mindsets and behaviour and to reverse centuries of conditioning which has programmed black women to remain loyal to black men who don't protect or provide for us.
@sassyx2048
@sassyx2048 8 ай бұрын
@@Coco-uk9tv Then we need to learn self love and learn to depend on ourselves. Why must it take another generation why? Read book visit other countries where being black and dark skin is not an issue like Kenya Zimbawe Uganda to name a few. Also black women need to learn how to protect each other be their for each other love each other stop dragging each other down were quick to blame black men what about black women how they behave towards each other. How about that.

@@sassyx2048 Self love, didn't start with influencers and social media. I'm in my 50s and have always looked after myself. However, when around black people, you can't deny the elephant in the room. It is sad, yes I agree, it's never held me back, but it's still a conversation today because it exists. To me, it's critical that parents especially teach their sons and daughters that all hues are beautiful and God made, because a lot of colourism starts in the family.
@sassyx2048
@sassyx2048 8 ай бұрын
@@Coco-uk9tv I'm not referring to social media or influences who actually cares about them. As a child growing up amongst my friends who ranged from very light medium dark in fact all shades it was never an issue and I'm talking 1980's I'm fed up of black people banging on about skin shades. Just deal with it and stop playing victim. That's my point. If some black men have issues with skin colour who cares why would you want them??? There so many black men who love and value black women of all shades we just don't put them out there only the negative. This is my point.

@@sassyx2048 Thank you for replying. I get you and I also agree with you to a large extent. I know you are right. How do we get to that place. Especially us women. Day to day it doesn't bother me. I'm mid life and couldn't care less. However, I do worry for the young beautiful black girls who have their whole life ahead of them. You know the ones still in primary/elementary school. Every black woman deserves to be happy, because we've experienced so much.😚
