Yes. I was thinking that you can tell this is old. Years ago people would just go along with something like this and try to make the best of it--try not to rock the boat. Today, people would throw a fit and start swearing and shouting threats. This wouldn't be a FUNNY video if this was done today.

Sadly,. the wonderful restaurant and the iconic Sportsman's Lodge is being torn down. I remember pop taking me there and watch all the fish in the garden ponds, eat at the excellent restaurant there and play again in the gardens. This video is a tribute to a legend in the San Fernando Valley since I was just a young boy and I'm 67 now. Thanks Peter for reviving an old classic and giving it a great sendoff with your prank video.

Reminds me of my mother in law who past this year,she was 94. When she would come down and visit from Ohio,every time we ate out she would take all the silverware off the table and when we got home she would wash it and put it in my drawer! Yet another excellent Candid Camera production. If I was one of the producers I would have done only two things differently. Suppose one of the customers asked for a set of silverware that wasn't chained to the table. The waiter would then mention that such a thing would require an immediate advance cash (not credit) deposit from the customer for collateral. Tentatively speaking I would say $30. Also, the producers could have had each piece of silverware hooked up to both a chain and a mini padlock underneath the table. The waiter could the more easily explain to the customers how the silverware was sent to the wash after meals.
