This Candid Camera concept shows that the people are basically polite, even under highly unusual circumstances. You can tell by their expressions that they recognize that the concept of a no-bathroom apartment is crazy and there's no way that they would rent it or buy it as is, but they feel compelled to remain polite, so as not to potentially offend the agent. And that's even when the agent suggests that they could use the balcony if they urgently needed to go to the bathroom.

I lived in a no bath apartment once. Was married to a sailor and we were stationed in Dunoon, Scotland. There was a privvy and a sink in the hallway, shared with the apartment across the hall, but no bath. I had to bathe out of a plastic tub in the kitchen sink. Was SO GLAD when we finally moved to a place in Glasgow!

So I put up a sign that read, "My aim is a clean bathroom. Your aim will help." He stopped! So I took the sign down. Well, he went back to it, so back up it went. He'd see me on my hands and knees, pregnant, scrubbing it every week (and more often when needed), and still had the nerve??? 🤬

Once our toilet was clogged very badly, and the repairing took a week. During that period, I had to go to the nearest church to use the toilet. Imagine waking up in the morning, and you have to pee and poop at the same time, but first, you have to get dressed. Then you walk for a bit, then when you get there, Father might see you and start talking about how it is good to pray in the morning while you are trying not to be rude. So, if you tell me it's a no bath, I walk out of there.

In Japan its very common in low end, small apartments to have no shower in the building (they use a public shower a block or 2 away which is actually very nice with a boiling hot jacuzzi) and shared toilets for the building. Its very neighborly. This saves a surprising amount of space. We don't use our bathroom much when you think of it.

My often favorite part is at the end, when they say "smile you are on candid camera" or "look at the camera, you are on candid camera", ect...... I could watch hours of only that, people reaction to candid camera.
