Candidate for Washington public lands chief meets with The Columbian's Editorial Board

Former 3rd District Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler met with The Columbian's Editorial Board on Oct. 15. Her opponent in the Nov. 5 election, Dave Upthegrove, did not make himself available for an editorial board meeting.

When Jamie was our Congressional representative in Washington DC, she didn't seem to do much of any practical effect for us back home. She wouldn't even show up for her Town Halls. I know because I tried to get her to have them! Meanwhile, Marie Gluzenkamp Perez has really shown just how effective that position could always and should always have been. We're getting roads fixed. We're getting Bridges repaired. There are things happening right and left to build our state back up again to what it used to be. I know that Jamie did vote for Biden's infrastructure bill and it passed. But that's as far as she ever got.
