Yeah, back when I worked theaters years and years ago when the free refill thing started for us we had people digging out buckets from the garbage from other showtimes and bringing them up for the refills.

I know this is a joke, but I ate dinner at a restaurant that a friend owned one evening, and when I had finished, I had left most of the mashed potatoes. I was asked if I had touched the potatoes, and when I said just where you see, I took a fork full. He was good, and when I asked why, he said I should take the uneaten portion and put it back in with the other potatoes to save money. I didn't eat there anymore.

Some people don't really care about used food. I've eaten some popcorn others have left before. Better than paying big bucks there. And one time at Red Lobster a lady have some loaded potatoes & I knew she hadn't touched them. After she left I snatched them up. I figured no point in wasting good food. They were cold, but still tasted good.
