I saw a KZbin video about the airlift and this gentleman was mentioned. I saw the video about three years ago. I looked him up to see when he had passed and was startled to learn he was still alive. When he passed I was sad to hear about the family's loss, but greatful to see he'd lived a long good life.

I have the pleasure working with one of his sons. I will not work for another man. His character is just like his father. Thank you, Gail for being a light in the darkness.

Hi How awesome to hear about him NOW! I was a babe in arms in West Berlin during his ‘ Candy bombing’ flights during the lifesaving ‘Air Lift’ American airmen so valiantly undertook to thwart the total road and rail blockade of West Berlin! May Yeshua the Messiah bless you forever!

If you don't mind me asking, what was the sentiment towards the Allies in Berlin back then? I can't imagine all the negative feelings would have been gone so soon. I'm sure much of the city was still rubble for many years to come.
