Ok, so this little guy is really cute. Just order the yarn. I am hoping I will be able to get two out of the yarn. I have the wire. It's a bear to bend. I used it in a huge collection of toad stools that go with the monstrous village I am building. I have 2 months in the log home but I think it will be awesome. My grown children are flipping out over this thing. Wait till they see the village people. They are pretty much all your designs. They won't be exact. I never make anything like the original idea. I want to make two and I think I will split two pair of the shoes so I can put one red and one white on each of them. Red on white leg and visa versa. I think that one will have the red on right and one will have their red shoe on the left. This really got my mind cranking. Thank so much for sharing Patti. Your ideas are fabulous. I am going to attempt to make a gnome taking a bubble bath in the upper floor of the gnome home. I am using iridescent clear beads for the bubbles, (Temu), and I am going to wrap his head in a turban. I also found a little ducky to put in the tub. I think I am going to make the bathtub an old-fashioned wooden tub. Anyway, thanks for your wonderful inspiration. I will be awake again tonight with my mind creating more work for myself. Good thing I enjoy it.

This was so fun to make, but I had a hard time getting the weight to balance. I wound up using a 3oz sinker weight (found in the fishing aisle) and put that in the toe of the shoe, and then my cork, which had to be trimmed down just a bit. I still used the nuts on the leg. PERFECTION!

It may be lighter, I did not do a balance with it. Try the legs before you add the weights and add till he stands up. That is how I tested the one I made first. He will still need weights on the leg opposite the curve. Thanks, Patti

I absolutely love this gnome but having problems finding the sneakers. I finally found a supplier who would sell me just red and I got all LEFT shoes. Is there a way that I’m just not think about to make this work ?
