Jason Corey How did you figure out how much meat per day to feed your dog? I usually feed my puppy 2.5LBS split between 2 meals per day, once in the morning and then in the evening, when I go more than that she usually leaves food left in her bowl.

I have a 4-1/2 male Cane Corso & a 5-1/2 yr Old English Bull dog. The Bull Dog has been on raw for 8 months and no long as allergies, skin issues or butt issues. The Cane Corso I transitioned off of kibble from the breeder when I got him. I applaud you for feeding raw as opposed to all the poisons in the processed kibble. I have bought once 200 lbs of grass fed beef from a farmer who raises grass fed Angus beef for $2 lb. I also buy large size roast at Sam's for $3.15 lb and cut it up. My organ meats that I can't source locally I buy from Raw food Miami and have it shipped which isn't bad because I live in Florida. I do puree vegetables in a blender to round out there diet. I also include salmon, sardines and smelts. I hope more of your views read this and try the raw or BARF diet. Best of luck and stay safe.

Hopefully I'm not overstepping a boundary here, and sorry it's so long - I just wanted to respond a little to your concern about butcher shops! So while butchers and processors in some areas (generally more rural) are interchangeable, if you want to ensure you're connecting with someone who takes in the live animal and slaughters, butchers, the whole thing through to the packaged final product, you should look for a meat processor versus a butcher. Generally speaking a butcher brings in halves, quarters, or primal muscle groups and breaks them down further into what you see as steak, roasts, et cetera. You shouldn't actually have access to a butchered animal that has been sick, unable to walk, or already deceased before they come to the processing plant (which plant sounds like a giant business but I worked for a bison processing plant for years that was a very small operation) because that is heavily regulated by the FDA and your state's Department of Ag. A lot of those places save lungs, spleen, and all kinds of less desirable organs for people who buy them for their dogs or sometimes dog food companies buy them. You could also ask them for any trim that was created in the breakdown process or even trim for grind will be cheaper because they don't have to process it further. Look for places that say they process deer or wild game because they probably process 4H animals, if they are listed as custom it might be more difficult to buy those things (they might have to "donate" it to you) rather than an inspected facility. So those are the buzz words: processor, custom, and inspected. If you would like I'll give you the website to the bison processor I worked for. They are amazing. P.S. - Chub (lmao I laughed SO hard) is just an industry term for those big rolls - I was always told that they were called that because they resembled the fish with the same name. lol

Hello there, I have a 180 pound 2.5-year-old cane Corso and I feed him raw because of you. I am still trying to find the right balance on feeding him and find a cost effective source for feeding him. Right now I am feeding him about 4 to 5 pounds a day, because too many people felt he was overweight, but I feel like he's getting slimmer and is always hungry. While researching for my new pups diet I found a semi local place that delivers prepped raw from their farm. Organ percentage higher and bone ground a bit finer in the puppy selections. Really happy I found them as getting the percentages right always worried me. In the end it works out cheaper than kibble in my specific case. Bonus is you can add all the glorious yucky extras like trachea as treats.

Hi there! I just want to say that Bruce looks beautiful and, as you said, is because of what you feed him! I've always been interested to this type of diet but I've never done it for various reasons. The major one probably being the cost. My dog basically weights half of Bruce(it's a Golden Retriever)and after doing a lot of research years ago when I've got him I've found a very good kibble(ACANA), it's pricey but I couldn't be happier with how my dog looks and is. Compared to the usual kibble I spend a lot of money(like 70 euro a month) but feeding him raw would be more than double(if not triple) the money and as of now I can't afford it. One of the reasons is probably because here(Italy) the stuff you say the butcher usually don't have(heart, kidneys etc) are quite normal to eat for us humans so their costs isn't so low as probably is over there. Btw let me say I love your videos, the Cane Corso is one of my favourite breed and I'd love to have one in the future! If I'll ever do then probably I would try to feed him raw! Ciao!

Awesome video. We have done raw and once the virus has reversed its course we will get back into it. Also, you put the Cane on my short list for the next dog. We have sporting dogs now but use to own Mastiffs and Saints. Again once the virus has run its course and socializing can be done we will revisit the idea.

Hi Jason and hi to your handsome boy, Bruce Wayne, I have some neighbors that go hunting sometimes and I get deer liver and heart. They go hunting for elk to so I get the same parts. Also tongue. I just started my 90 lb. bully mix, well a couple of months. He absolutly loves it. Most of the meat ( chicken, hambuger, chicken gizzard and heart, fish sometimes. I tried giving a turkey leg but he made me nervous that he wouldt chew the bone good. He inhales his food.. Thanks for making informative videos.! I really enjoy them.

Hey man, I have a giant schnauzer, he is fed a raw diet and he weighs 110 lbs. Lucca has been fed this since he was 60 days old. Because he is on a raw diet he gets raw vegetables as well as cooked. Along with that he gets fruit added like bananas,blueberries,strawberries, etc...nothing beats feeding your dog a raw diet. I completely agree with you.

I have raised a rescued Siberian Husky and 2 American Eskies on kibble diets and I believe they all had health issues and died earlier than they should've because of the kibble. I was uneducated on the raw diet and now if and when I am able to get a Cane Corso, it will be raw all the way!

So sorry for your losses. When I rescued my dog, he looked awful. He was old when I got him. Now three years later he's so old but he's healthier than when I first got him. In the past, I've feed kibble and canned. I thought buying expensive kibble was so good for them. I learned there is no high quality kibble and canned. All kibble and canned is bad. I now don't trust commercial dog food companies. My interest is the health and longevity of my dog. Their interest is the almighty dollar. So the pet food companies have lost a good paying customer.

First of all ,,, thank you for all your amazing videos! Gotham and I watch you all the time! (Gotham is a 15 month old cane corso weighs about 114 lbs now). We feed him raw , he does love his veggies too! It is difficult right now finding everything,,, but we do,, I find everything costs a little more right now,,, but Gotham is certainly worth it! Hi Dani Tan. Do you grind the veggies before feeding? I learned that putting the veggies on n the food processor works well for breaking down the food. Dogs have a difficult time dijesting raw veggies and raw fruit. Thank you for loving your furry child.

I am thinking about getting a Cane Corso but a bit later when I have the room and money. I have the time and I am doing a lot of research. I don't have any issues taking my dog oit and socializing him and meeting new people. You've really opened my eyes as to how important it is to train your dog and feed him proper food and how EXTREMELY important it is to socialize them. This breed. I live in Michigan but I have family that live down south in Mississippi and I'll see if they know someone who can give me all that i need foe my dog to feed them raw. I know this is early but I'm planning ahead of time. I want to learn as much as I can and not wait until i get the dog because then it's too late. I'm just lost on all the places I can take my dog. Even though this is Michigan Detroit doesn't have many places to go. Other than downtown which has a LOT of people. I think that's where I'll start when socializing my dog. I just want to learn as much as I can about the breed and how to care for them because I don't want an unruly dog, and I don't want to have to put them dog because of MY negligence and ignorance to the needs of my dog. I want to be the best for my future dog. So thank you. Your videos are doing my so many wonders and are helping me more and more. I was just taking to my friend. I fed raw in the past, after one of my boxers was diagnosed with a heart condition (her expected lifespan was down to months at best) I looked at other options and ended up trying raw feeding, on her final vet trip he couldn't even find the problem, that was 2 years later! If it works for you then it's amazing, but circumstances can change, I had to return to kibble with my other boxer, he ended up looking like a sharpei twice from allergic reactions, most likely dietary was what I was told, I never found out exactly caused it, but the kibble stopped it happening again!

You just made me think about something. I feed 80-10-10, and mostly went thru trial and error like you. My 5yo corso is 130~135. He gets about 3-4lbs a day with a supplement. I tried grocery, and then I found a farmer. But she only does beef, so no variety. So I went to a guy someone recommended in Texas, They have all meats, but they grind into chubs. You can buy2.5lb or 5lb all different varieties straight or blend. Plus they have the green tripe. I purchase 80 10 10 blend called shepherds blend. Which has a little more fat and is for working dogs and weight gain. Beef chick offals. I supplement with fresh berries, eggs and veges. And add powder vitamin essentials from the procurer which is pretty good. A 40lb box costs 99.00 and I pay 25.00 shipping. So I usually buy twice per month. In all honesty, the kids prefer the chubs cause they dont have to cut up the offals and heart🤣. They even have fish, bones,trachea,fur etc. Rush shipping comes well packed. I just bought a freezer so I can buy a month at a time. But what you made me think about was,....are they using DD'S?? Have to check that out. Never thought about it.

Jason Corey the bulldog has been on raw since 3 years he is 5 years old. Less shedding , I’ve even noticed less drooling. Not as excessive as on kibble. No yellow smokers teeth, no skin flakes. Poop disintegrates quickly i don’t even pick up the poop anymore as it is so little and lasts only a few days before vanishing. Plus its a 5 acre plot so i dont worry about it too much. My dogs drink less water too ever since on raw since the meat already has water and unlike kibble doesn’t make their mouth or body dry.

Jason Corey the german shepherd naturally sheds and I couldn’t tell the difference on raw as he was on raw since day 1 , but the bulldog wasn’t and i can tell the differences. The reason why i started the bulldog late on raw was because he was on a medicated diet for seizures. But one day i said screw it lets go all raw and he hasn’t had a seizure since touch wood.

@@_FrankCastle_ hi Mr Frank, kibble also expands in their belly. Raw doesn't expand or swell in their stomachs. Kibble does swell in their stomach and they need alot of water when they eat kibble since it's so dry and for the kibble to be pushed out the other end. Since raw doesn't swell in their stomachs, there's less chance for bloat or torsion which can be deadly if not corrected immediately. My elder dog I've fed before or after long walks because I know from experience that he won't get bloat. Three-four years on raw and never any problems.

Maxximus is 4 months and 30 lbs. He's eating 3 lbs of raw per day. I getting it for him in my Ninja because he still has his baby teeth. I source my leg quarters, hearts and liver, necks and gizzards at the local supermarket. And I pay about $30-$50 per week. I'm also giving him a scoop of Nupro gold dog supplement. He loves his food and is definitely doing better since that first week that i fed him great kibble.

I had to go off raw my pup was barely eating. I varied his diet and then he’d turn up his nose wanting something else. I was throwing food out.😩I wound up using Orijen kibble. I then started adding raw here and there and he’s picky again! He a 143lb 11 month old puppy Newfoundland. Back to him not eating enough 😑

For my 18kg ( 39 lbs) husky i pay 140euros (153 dollars) per month in France she Eats about 1.5 pounds of meat a day !mIts from priminstinct i dont know if you understand French its pretty intersting its local and human consumption and its not from dead or diseased animal they show all where the meat come from and its also a small compagny which’is’good ! Its pretty good and my husky loves it! Its like 4.6 euros per day to Feed hèr.

I don't know if anyone else has had this problem, but our dogs did horrible on chicken, turkey & lamb. Someone told us that they are warm meats, lamb being hot. Where beef & pork being neutral, this made a huge difference in their overall health.

I remember a month ago or so, maybe more, when I was searching for examples of raw diets, some dude went to his local store and compared his personal choice of diet and it ended up being both cheaper and in higher quantity. If someone is interested I'll try to hunt it down lol.

I've been feeding my Corso PMR for almost 3 years and its been great (started when she was 5 months). She's never done well on kibble. She would get rashes etc. I can't imagine ever going back to garbage food. However, I ran out of my bone supplier last month and had to source bone from a pre made meal which cost through the roof ($60 for a 4lb box - which is a days meal). The problem with some of these pre made meals, is that the ratios are not correct to what my dog needs so therefore I'm overdosing her in organs etc. Every dog is so different that it makes pre made more difficult than if you were to do it yourself. Anyways she had diarrhea for a week straight, it was black liquid and bloody. Not good. Thankfully she's all checked out and healthy and back on her normal diet. I will never feed a pre made meal again. I just like knowing what I give her and doing it myself. Its a lot of work sometimes, but once you get a routine, its worth it. She can be extremely picky though (she'll sniff the food first and if she's not interested she will back up lol ). Thanks for the tips on picky eaters! Great videos, theres always something to learn!
