You two put the time and effort from the moment you looked into the breed, to the right breeder, upbringing, socializing, overall training....heck yeah be proud of the great results. Anyone too sensitive to let you be proud...too bad for him/her. I got two GSD and I believe a dog with a purpose and sense of work responsibility is a happy/fulfilled dog. JOB WELL DONE 👍!

I absolutely love my Blue. He’s three months old but is big...lol. He surprises me every day. I’ve taken your advice wholeheartedly...socialize socialize and socialize. When he sees another person walking their dog he sits calmly and waits until they get closer and they come to him. I love it. He’s so calm and relaxed that it really surprises me. The key is socialization, especially during those critical weeks. I have the most well-behaved dog ever. Although I got her at 3 years of age from a shelter I socialized in every setting I could and with as many people as I could. She is pit mix but she is mixed with something that really made her stand out. So tons of people wanted to pet her and take pictures. Neighborhood children played with her. I had three cats and after training her the cats can eat out of her bowl along with her. I never had to crate her and I could leave her alone. I feed her primarily meat and good quality dog food, And she also eats what I eat. She sleeps in the bed when she wants or in her favorite spot. And she never lunges at dogs or people and I have always used a regular collar. And she is alert and protective.

I loved the first video. As someone who has well-socialized and trained dogs of a similarly protective and sensitive breed, I saw so much that was great in Bruce Wayne's behavior that I was really impressed.

both of my corsos are 26 weeks old and we got them from the breeder at the height of corona so socializing them from the start was challenging, now the female is very protective and barks at anyone or anything approaching or minding their business, the male barks if she starts barking but if anything is approaching the female pulls and is ready to go after it, where as the male cry barks and backs up. still working on them and getting better.

My Cane Corso pup is 4 months old. He's still very curious about people because we got him during the quarantine and he's still not around a lot of people. When he sees people from afar he stops and stares. If they're closer, he typically approaches in curiosity wagging his tail. When he sees dogs, he immediately barks and wants to engage them. I don't sense that its a negative energy more than wanting to play or engage

That’s like my dog with the barking and dogs, when we first got her we thought he wasn’t dog friendly or was only dogs she liked. But she gets so excited she barks and her barks seem aggressive and her energy. Mines a staffy/ mixed with lab. now that we understand her with the barking we know she’s wanting to play and saying hello. We also use a prong collar when she out in public not to stop from pulling more if something set her off . Basically the reason he explains in his videos why he uses it. Mine we can of have leash to go pee no problem and to get in car to go to my parents house. Outside that she’s not terrible off leash but definitely needs some more work. But definitely looking at a cane or mastiff breed top three are the English or bull or cane are what I’m looking at

YES! Thanks for sharing his positive outlook. My oldest Labrador passed away 5 years ago. I still miss her sweet, happy spirit. I think that's a large part of why I love watching you both with Bruce Wayne.

My puppy is still very reactive, he LOVES everyone! He gets so excited when he meets a 'new friend,' that he doesn't realize not everyone wants puppy kisses. So, definitely gonna need more downtown walks to get him more chill around people

Jason, you actually are a trainer. I've worked with large breed dogs for 30 years and am still learning. If anyone thinks they know everything about any breed, they're complacent. The proof you know what you're doing is that amazing creature right next to you. You are so tuned into him it's unbelievable. That and the fact that you do the work necessary to educate yourself with what you need to know, you'll always be learning cause you'll never be satisfied with everything. That's a good thing.

Hi Jason, totally agree - that vlog was super-rich in proof of how well-trained Bruce is. Thanks for sharing him with us out here, and surely everyone here is looking forward already to the day where you bring home a pup for him to train :-) As to our own dogs do out in public - the old GSD is very similar, and why? Exact same methods you've been using with Bruce: Train, socialize, train, socialze, and after the first 1,5 years, the dog has been used to so many situations that she's confident out there in the world. The 4 month old pup not yet, obviously, but also in that case, I aim for the same.

I know all cane carsos have different personality but I believe I can train one to be as good as yours. Enjoy your videos very much. I have a beautiful female -black brindle, 17 week Mastiff mix, Dogue de Bordeaux mother and Black Cane Corso father. She is getting over her shyness, I live in a major Ca City. She loves 75 % dogs, if they bark at her she barks back, then plays. Tiny dogs still cautious, small kids still cautious. Likes people more and more. At first when I got her neighbors were shocked, now they love her. I learn so much from you and your wife! I also use the prong collar when walking. Thank you!

It's really good that bruce is a laid back Corso. My Corso, I have intentionally trained him to be a personal protection dog. So I actually try not to socialize him too much... usually its very intentional who I allow to approach him because I want him to be wary of people. I think you should maybe do a video in regards to this. Socialization of your Corso, or any protection breed, is completely dependent on what you want out of your dog. Of course, no matter what being in complete control of your dog is extremely important.

My service dog is a Malinois and he does obedience and protection training. Lots of Mal’s and Shepard’s in the class but there is this black Cane Corso in class who is the most bad ass, scariest and yet, lovable dog. He is 110lbs, a baby, but so sweet, until the part of class begins in which it is time not to be sweet. The trainers have to use a thicker, more armored, arm pad with the Cane Corso. His bite, even at 8 months is impressive.
