I've had Canik firearms. The T9 SA & the TP9DA. I like the DA better for the restrike capability. To me, that's important. Mine has held up well. The only modifications are Truglo night sights & a flashlight. I find the Canik line of pistols to be well made, and the triggers are phenomenal for OEM triggers. That's my 2 cents worth. Great review & presentation.

The Canik TP9 DA model is poorly misunderstood by many people out there, mainly by gun owners that all they want to do is just "pull the trigger" 😁 (I am being sarcastic a bit) and don't want to deal with a decocking system. The TP9 DA is actually a modern flawless design. It can be staged in 3 firing different modes, depending on the individual training and dexterity of the shooter: - One mode is in double action first shot, by decocking the pistol after racking a round in the chamber, with subsequent shots in single action (ideal anti-stress mode for police agencies). -The second mode is, racking the slide to load a round in the chamber and not decocking the pistol, making the first shot a longer trigger pull without resistance, until you feel it clicks in the single action mode, and you can then fire it (if so is warranted). -The third mode is for the professionals, which it's racking a round in the chamber and carefully using the safe action system to stage the trigger in single action. Consequently, all shots are set in single action. This mode is not recommended for amateurs or novices. Basically, the TP9 DA is a pistol with 3 firing modes; so: "you do you." That is: whatever you prefer and you are comfortable with.

Do you think the grip can be cut down to the size of a sub compact to conceal better? I'd like to use all my TP9 mags with sleeves when needed but want a concealed carry that is DA. It doesn't look like the grip has anything mechanical in it at the bottom. Seems like it should work.

My TP9DA is superior to my HKVP9. My trigger was outstanding right out of the box and have experienced no failures of any kind. Build quality is excellent, fit and finish is very good. I did change out the front sight to a Warren fiber optic sight and accuracy improved. This is a rugged, heavy duty pistol, and a great shooter.
@doitriteak5 жыл бұрын
That sounds like a great upgrade but I am skeptical about the durability and longevity of fiber optics

Just got mine a couple weeks ago. Hadn't shot a gun in 30 years and this gun shoots great. I was able to field strip it easily and clean. Great video. Peace of mind for my home. Things have come a long way since I shot a .45 in the submarine service. Respect for all the armed forces of our great country.

If you web page that i can purchase to upgrade my DA it would helpful 👌 Great knowledge

I have the original TP9V1 and it's been my Fall and Winter Carry Pistol for about six years now. I do shoot it sparingly and it's been a crowd pleaser at my Pistol Club's Range. Were it lost to me, I would immediately order up a new TP9DA to replace it.

bought mine @ 3-4 months ago; so far only 3 range sessions (@ 100-125 rounds each)...factory mags, 2 extra mags, and another 2 extra mags (one order got delayed & I forgot about it so I bought another set elsewhere); I am average in the accuracy department (large grip size for my hands); sellier & bellot 115gr has been most of it's diet & 2 mags of Winchester 115gr fmj & 25 rds of hornady american gunner 124gr xtp +p hp; the double action trigger pull reminds me of da revolver trigger pulls...
