Canik TTI Combat: 1000 round follow up 🤯

I have put over 1000 round through my TTI combat and have had zero issues. Not a single malfunction. I have put just about every brand of ammo through it from 115 gr to 147 grain and everything in between. Hollow points and target ammo. I even let my daughter shoot it and she is a small person with small hands and weak wrists. Zero malfunctions. Excellent firearm. The TTI combat can run.

The only 'real' issue there is with the Canik is that people have been putting too much oil, grease, or cleaning products on it. It gets into the firing pin channel, causing light primer strikes. Other than that, you're totally right, a great firearm!

I can’t ever recall having a single issue with the 12 or so I’ve owned. Nothing worth remembering anyway they have been fantastic. I actually clean my firing pin channel with a q-tip and alcohol because I know exactly what you mean.

Not true. I’ve had one with the out of battery issue causing light primer strike. In that case there would be zero indentation to the primer. They took it in for repair then replaced the striker assembly and the recoil spring. This did not fix the issue so they decided to replace with a new weapon. I got the new weapon and had 3 light primer strikes leaving a dimple on the striker the gun actually had returned to batter. I cleaned the excess oil off of the striker and haven’t had an issue since. So yes some people had over oiled guns others like my self have experienced both. I believe the issue is with the rails on the rear of the gun the plastic molding had too much material as I can see wear on it from the slide hitting it causing it to not go into battery. I saw the same wear on both of my guns so I think the other just had a bigger issue.

That prodigy that I just reviewed that was compensated. I did not have any issues with it not one not even a hint at a issue, but it has so much oil or grease in it from the factory and I put the pictures on the video of just how much GSR brass shavings and everything else just accumulated inside the gun and all of the breach face, and although I was going to shoot it 1000 rounds without cleaning it I’m like man this is crazy. I’ve got to clean this gun and when I took it down and removed the back plate and pull the ejector and firing out dude the gunk that came out of that firing pin channel was unreal. You need about four drops of oil in very strategic places and call it a day.

Only got around 300 rds through mine. First magazine I shot I had a couple light striker issues. I disassembled it and cleaned out a little glob of grease out of the striker channel , no problems ever since.

When I hear of people having bad luck with these firearms, especially the ones that I seem to be having good luck with have I have mixed emotion about it because I’ve always been the one that would pick a runt out of a litter. I’ve had my Canik TTI about 7 weeks. I have put 1500 rounds of 115 grain Blazer ammo through it. I had 2 failure to feed in the first 250 rounds. Since then it has been flawless.

After just purchasing the gun yesterday from TTI, and having to wait their “6 - 9 weeks” for it to be delivered… I decided to watch some videos on it (I know, most ppl do this before they order, I saw it, loved it and had to order it though)… but I came across a lot of negative comments and/or videos…. I’m hoping to not have any issues as I absolutely love the look of it & can’t wait to get it and take it out!!

Check this out. Bought my TTI Combat a week ago. Took it to the range, and after about 30 rounds or so, I had my 1st ftrtb. Took a few more shots and it happened again. Happened again after a few MORE rounds, so I stopped shooting it and used another gun (my Canik SFX Rival😊). Anyway, I went home and used some Lucas Extreme Duty gun oil on the slide and frame. I racked the slide probably 10 to 20 times and took it back to the range the next day. After about 200 rounds, I have not had another ftrtb issue. I didn't change springs. I shot Winchester 115 grain ammo. Will be taking it to the range again tomorrow to put about 2 to 300 more rounds through it, as I do with all my new guns. I'm not expecting any more issues, but time will tell. I have 3 Caniks now, a CZ P10C, the SA Echelon, 2 Walther PDP PRO SD'Ss, a Glock G45 and 19X, and an H&K VP9. Yes, some people are hyping up the TTI, and we all know why... (Taron's name), and some are trashing it, but so far I'm loving mine. Stay safe out there, and God Bless. 🔫

Yeah I think sometimes people have a hiccup or 2 and instead of cleaning it or making sure nothing is it the firing pin cylinder and trying a different ammo they will just keep shooting it and expect it to get better and then dog it out when it doesn’t. I mean I’ve literally never owned a kimber 1911 that didn’t have problems for first 500 rounds but no one talks about it because they are $1700 guns. How would you compare the TTI to the VP9? I've shot the vp9sk and a Mete and preferred the VP9, but people seem to really like the tti

That’s a tough one bro because the VP9 has always been one of my favorite pistols but that was 10 years ago. The firearm industry has changed so much with the introduction of pistols undreamed of 10 years ago and as far as feel in the hand there is no better than the VP9 but I’m faster, more accurate with the Canik. Canik has a better trigger also. I would say because of the track record that the VP9 is built better over all but for just shootability and accuracy id have to go with the Canik on this one. My first time shooting the gun, I put around 200 rounds of S&B 115 grain which is rated at 1180 fps. I experienced approximately 20 failure to fully return to battery. I tried the low power spring as well during that time and still had the same issues. I contacted Canik and got a high power spring from them (no charge). I put another 200 rounds using the same ammo and had no issues at all. If you guys are having failures to return to battery, contact Canik for the high power recoil spring.

I am not a collector and I consider all my weapons tools. I got tp9sfx and had no issues. I was carrying it every time I put my britches on and just had to admit the 5" was just to big, but was so impressed with the trigger I went and got the tp9sf elite and I would not trade for any glock 19 sized gun.

2K rounds thru mine… flawless, insanely accurate and by far my most pleasant to shoot polymer pistol thats not a .22. The return to zero is insane. I’m not sure how much youve followed this gun before You bought it but I can tell You this: the extreme Hatred for it started before it was even released.

I do not discredit other peoples experiences, but I also do not watch mini if any at all other peoples reviews or read articles, etc., before I do a review because I know how I am or probably anybody would be those things would be in their head and subconsciously may cause bias. I didn’t know or hear about it. Release prior to being released and I actually picked it up seven days before the official release date at a gun show local to me. With that said I’m about 1300 into this thing without a single failure and as you mentioned, probably the shooting gun in my city with the closest competitor being the 320 AXG Legion. Same story here, 800 rounds in and zero issues. I guess we just got “lucky”. I’d love to know what ammo you use. I’ve only used 115 gr FMJ Fiocchi and hornady critical duty.

Well, for the first 100 rounds or so I was using the blazer brass and then it was brought to my attention that it was not recommended for comped guns. Indeed it does say that on the side of the box. Since then I have shot mostly S&B, some Winchester white box and like you also shot some Fiocchi and PMC Bronze and a few 124 grain Federal HST. What I’ve noticed is almost consistently the people who didn’t use a red dot and only the iron sights experienced issues. People using red dot experienced no issues. Don’t know if that’s a difference between buying the gun with the canik red dot or if that’s also true buying the gun without the red dot and adding your own but that is a weird consistency I’ve seen

I haven't bought this one yet. My two Caniks have thousands of rounds. No issues! I'm thinking they're glock boys and don't like Canik or opporateor errors. Such as over lubrication

I'm just trying to male sure this gun runs without any issues at all. When I look at that Sprinco site, I see Canik, but it doesn't actually label TTI Combat. Can it be any yellow TP9 spring?

Maybe you could help me decide which one to buy. I was looking into the rival S-Steel frame and TTI Combat. All my Sig Sauer has a compensator. So I love shooting gun with compensator. But I do like the Rival S-Steel frame because the look of it and the weight of it. I wish Canik would make a Rival S-Steel frame with a compensator. That would be the perfect gun. I'm looking for competition or range gun only.

It’s very difficult for me to tell someone to buy one gun over another without my personal bias sometimes. Also, I’ve recommended one over another through the comment section a couple of times and the person goes out and buys the one I recommend and something is wrong with it or it has problems and instead of blaming the manufacturer they act like is my fault for recommending it. The only thing that I can say over the last 30 years I’ve owned nearly if not more than 300 firearms and currently about 100 and the TTI has been one of those guns that I have to talk myself out of not taking to the range every single time I go because it is so much fun to shoot, and for me anyway I probably shoot better with it than I do any other gun I currently own. What screws did you use to mount your Trijicon RMR optic? The screws that came in the mini gun tool kit or the screws that came with your optic??? Reason I asked is bc the owner’s manual states to use screws from tool kit, but the screws in my tool kit aren’t long enough to secure my SRO and the included optics plate…

According to Calculated Kinetics (CK) 6/32 x 1/2 for RMR mount with CANIK TTI Combat plate provided aluminum plate in the box. There is a good video on YT by CK which highly suggests using the supplied plate. I contacted them today and their only advice was to go with a long screw (1/2”) with a Holosun 507 Comp. I bought the screws from CK. Paid more than I could be online but appreciated their advice. Good folks.
