i got my premolars extracted by beginnings of July and got my braces righted for the first time after it my mid august. my gaps already started to close! please do not feel scared, it actually happens a lot faster than expected. the recuperation was not painful at all and i had no problems. if u need help, don’t hesistate to ask me!

Ooo, I believe this is a treatment that might start in my case. They're continuing to work on step 1 & step 2. Though informed me that they'll begin to continue to close my important large spaces. Am very happy over it as well. Am being consistent with my rubber bands. 😊

Just use a lacebacks till you reach working stainless steel wire and then normal mechanics for close spaces . Never use power chains to close big spaces , to strong , max strength should be 250 gr per quadrant . Greetings

I removed my right side premolars on s Sep 2023 removed left side on October 2023, replaced the normal wire with the thick wire on Nov 2023 and Dec 2023, the spaces are smaller but still very noticeable, when should they close? My lower incisors are now looking worse than before but I am saying maybe it is part of the process.

So i just got my second braces a month ago. The first braces i got it for 2 and a half years, but this dentist didn't really change my teeth only a slight difference and she didn't extract my teeth, throughout the time it changes and became crooked. So this time i got braces again to fix it. But the problem is i only have 3 months to get my teeth fixed because I'm planning to move to another country in august. Therefore the dentist speed up the treatment by giving me appointments in every 2 weeks. And the thing i concern the most is the dentist extracted my first premolar of the lower teeth, and is it possible to close the gap of the extracted tooth on time (in early august)?

Firstly... Every 2 weeks having orthondontic movement is so weary, I really hope you're doing okay. Unfortunately extraction gaps typically take (usually) 6 to 8 months, or a year. Braces take time. They're moving your teeth into a desired position for an longlasting, invested-into smile. And that connects to your brain, nerves, body, and overall wellness. It really varies. Consider needing an ortho in the new country (just in case). Otherwise, keep following the instructions precisely how your ortho is advising you! Best of luck. :)

It is not right. If you want to use the technique of straight wire, you do not need to move the canines away from the incisors. At the closing stage of the gaps, a rectangular steel arc should be used with the parameters 0.019 inches to 0.025 inches with hooks soldered in the area between the canine and the second cutter. As a force, you can use the nickel-titanium closing springs stretched from the hooks on the seventh or sixth teeth to the hooks on the arc. It is incorrect to use hooks on braces as a support.

Let's say, the upper centrals and laterals are closed and now you need to close the gap between the upper right canine to the lateral. First, use a stainless steel tie on 4 incisors, then place your archwire preferably rectangular wire to support the forces and tooth movement. Secondly, put a steel tie, the tightest tie should be placed in the direction of the force of the tooth, eq. canine going mesially to join the lateral, so put a ligature tie on the mesial of the canine. Why the tightest tie on the mesial? preventing the canine to rotate while going mesially. Then lastly, apply powerchain (one module per tooth) one module for the canine and one for the lateral. Hope this helps. =D

Niti has an insufficient stiffness to support the forces and tooth movement. The interbracket distance from 3-5 makes for more wire flexibility that leads to arch distortion, tipping of the adjacent teeth into the extraction spaces, and molar extrusion. We don't want any of that, that would lead to longer treatment time for our patients.
