Canjam 2022 NYC

What’s up Brooklyn knight here. That background music was dope. Just picked up the Ares II & connected it to my stereo and compared it to my old Arcam IrDAC with Sbooster power supply. In my system the Arcam IrDac sounds much better. I’m going to setup the Ares II to my PC I just need a power amp. After your awesome review’s still torn between the SA-1 & the Jot 2. Listen to mostly house music, R&B, Latin jazz & salsa. Headphones he6xx and HiFiMAN he4xx

Hey thanks for the support! Tough decision on the amps. I'd say if you want more thump and authority look at the Jot 2. If you value slightly more clarity up top then the SA-1 with the DC mod (caveat emptor) should make you happy.

i also think planars are the future. when it comes to sound quality (imo) planars win hands down in their price bracket.

Agreed. They will continue to eat more of the headphone market pie. Planars are better in almost every way but dynamics which is why I love focals.
