其實我都準備回流返加拿大，無論你喺香港搵幾多錢咩職位，去到都係重新學起，有5樣嘢，一定要學好，揸車做一個專業司機Uber都要class 4，會計一定要理解加拿大嘅稅制會計制度，簡單水電維修，簡單煮食維持生命，中年人記得去染髮等自己望落去後生啲。

真心喜歡見到呢啲sharing, 我舊年都參加BC Work 嘅職業workshops，教你寫加拿大resumes, 同香港方式好唔同！當然呢啲workshops未必有直接幫助搵工，但個人感受，唔好太心急搵工，但係要有決心投入加拿大生活，唔好屋企摺埋，做義工，去教會，讀書，仔女學校家長會等，種種方式都可以，總之融入加拿大生活係最重要，然後對搵工會有幫助。

基本上，艱難大一向搵工搵食艱難，因為稅多又重！香港人來到，很多不是不肯放低身段去搵嘢做，而是一來難搵工是現實，二來交了稅後，事實收入仍低美國同香港好多，不容易抵消高物價、租金、同稅項及日常洗費，工種不算多，因為加拿大非極商業國家、非商業機會處處，本地人久而久之，因稅重，得不到多勞多得的好處，所以做嘢文化一向慢同懶、冇效率可言，最叻用Work Life Balance做躲懶藉口，美國更商業化、更多商業及就業機會，所以反正加拿大治安日差，愈來愈似美國，年輕人倒不如轉戰美國找工作機會，尤其不少未入到藉或已入籍的人，也選擇離開，因為搵工搵食艱難！

本來我們跟本地人的生活模式已不同但現在就算本地人都挨唔到落去。政府好似解決唔到呢個大難題😊😂

Exactly. I think Canada has much higher demand for blue collar job like carpenter, but not that much for white collar office job, so, if HK people are willing to work for blue collar work, they can easily find well paid job

我公司係美國global公司，上年有5個同事從香港office transferred to 英國同加拿大office。我建議香港朋友嚐試從internal transfer去其他markets, 成功率比係加拿大本土揾高好多。

香港人嘅resume 好多都要執。好多後生好鐘意整到好花巧，但內容唔得，或者用photoshop 整到好好睇，但原來一開始就已經過唔到keyword filter. 得閒搵下啲resume clinic 幫手望下，唔少NGO都有做呢啲工作

去年10月份landing 溫哥華，搵左一個月工都無人請，已經接受最低工資，打算識下人，熟悉下呢度環境，報酬不區，（因為本身香港有生意，生活問題不大），之後果斷放棄，享受下人生算。

if knowing basic carpentry, can build a raised garden beds, shed , make or repair a deck, install fences, lots of part time and self-employed job available. Yes, Canadian like to do DIY, but they would buy a per cut raised garden bed to install , and not invest all the tools to build from scratch and some people are working full time, they would pay someone to do that.

May be being a teacher a good career path for you? There's always very high demand for teacher. You can find out what's the requirement from the school you are volunteer at. MOst likely you will need an education degree/diploma to get get started

我住GTA,剛4月底plumbing technician畢業，打左3x電話，send 左6x Email, walkin拜訪1x間 plumbing公司，無一回音。宜家搵到份無咩關我本科既工做住先，當儲下經驗，接觸下唔同人又透露下自已讀plumbing, 希望有機會入返呢行或者繼續喺宜家份工做上去。同時又留意吓d工會一開放報名即狗衝。上星期又剛剛考埋巴士司機筆試等7月出結果。喺加拿大唔同香港，做咩工都可以出人頭地唔好介意工種，稍稍放下身段，見步行步同時試多d渠道去搵機會。

Isn't plumbing a very high demand job? I am surprise you are having hard time find it. May be you can go to some local job/career clinic and they may be able to help you out? I think you are almost there. Add oil la

@@sc3192 licences plumber and plumbing technician is two different level. You can hire a handyman to repair or fix the basic plumbing problem, but aware of the liabilities. Local job gym might have some info , but 90% of company will send their job post to local union/ chapter.

Office job is not easy to find in Canada, but if you are looking for blue collar job (and usually much more well paid than office job), you can easily find a lot of jobs. I have a feeling that most HK people are looking for office job, may be that's why it's difficult.

@@sdfsafasfsf5545 非常难，全加拿大基本只有多伦多、温哥华、渥太华这三个城市有规模的IT行业，其它城市几乎没有。纯软件竞争太激烈了，你有IT基础可以去学习转换成半软件半硬件的工作会比较好。

所謂嘅搵工難其實只係大學畢業生或者年輕人極難搵到自己理想嘅工作或者關於自己專業嘅工作。好多名牌大學畢業嘅新生無奈因為生活壓力要做啲同自己學歷不相符嘅最低工資工作或者散工黎幫補生活。歸根究底都係加拿大經濟問題，培養咗咁多大學生出嚟，但係勞動市場就冇足夠空缺提供俾班後生仔女。

@@alexlaw9636 there are lot of part time blue collars jobs: spring: green house, summer: roofing, landscaping, home building, winter: building snow shovelling, in house construction parts assembling. If you think about the concept of rainy day sells raincoat, sunny day sells sunscreen and umbrella. There are jobs all the times.

@@alexlaw9636 i think restaurant or fastfood industry are always hiring? The turn over is so high that they always need people. And I think there's also high demand for those Construction job. I think you can easily find them on Indeed or workopolis or other job searching site

@@alexlaw9636 我過嚟見咗3份餐廳待應都唔請話我冇本地經驗... 見大統華工都打哂蛇餅又係唔請體力要求高嗰啲我女仔又做唔嚟大學畢業本身喺香港做it 但呢邊opening 極小揾文員工得華人工有面試但都係冇下文我又冇行政工經驗開到17蚊一個鐘都冇回音

如果是工簽，是儲工數，self employed hour 不計的。

其實唔一定要識人先搵到。我由畢業到而家份份都係靠自己冇referral，搵工係一個number game 同Information game。你要好target 咁去申請某一D位，再跟呢D位既要求逐樣item 去tackle。所謂關係就係你要向D坐果個位既人收料，搞清楚間公司開緊咩位要咩人。

揾工可以好難，可以好易，我見唔少cases, 連自己想揾乜工都唔知，去邊度揾唔知，加拿大有乜公司啱你唔知，連城市都揀錯，resume 寫到一pet 屎咁，英文唔練，見工interview 零準備，諗住打天才波，見左幾份衰左，就灰爆，周圍放負，同人講send 左幾千張resume 都冇回音，好淒涼。 sorry, 自己都未準備好，你連呻嘅資格都冇。
