Your prepper videos gives me and others an excellent jump start in our thought process for survival. I didn't know sour cream came in powder form because I never saw it at my food stores. Take a look at Sam's Club Kirkland brand canned beef in beef broth (no gravy). It has 1/4 the sodium, 2/3 of the cholesterol, no carbs (probably from the gravy in the Hereford brand) and 2 grams less protein. It gives me more flexibility in what I can make with it. BBQ sandwiches, beef stroganoff, tacos, burrito, chimichanga, soups & stews, etc. anything needing shredded or chunked beef.

That was a great idea! I always buy canned corned beef and it comes from Brazil or Argentina; both countries are top beef producers. On your suggestion, I tried this brand of corned beef, and it was better quality. I lived in the suburbs of Baltimore from 1970-1995 and THE comfort food was always sharing a platter of fries & brown gravy. I bought 1 can of Great Value roast beef and was going to try it on open faced sandwiches and fries with a jar or package of brown gravy mix. I know that’s a lot of carbs, but if a nice salad or some fruit on the side, I think it would be nice. However, the Hereford brand , even just on the can looks better quality! Love your tips! Ty!

@@AlaskaGranny -I like to make an opened face sandwich, put it in the microwave just to warm it a bit, take it out and place a slice of either provolone or Swiss cheese on top of each slice and reheat in microwave for about 15-20 seconds. It’s delicious and very filling, and then will have canned fruit after my stomach has some room! I’ve eaten just the plain cold sandwich with mustard, too. Both great!l

A word of caution. I would avoid canned meat from Uruguay at all costs. A few years ago I opened a can of corned beef from Uruguay, and it was rancid. I took it back to the supermarket where it was purchased, the manager inspected it, instantly refunded my money, and immediately pulled all the Uruguay canned meats from the shelves. I have purchased many cans of meat from Brazil and I've never had a problem. Good video AlaskaGranny. Cheers.
