I use a large can of Keystone roast beef with the juices, a package of lipton onion soup mix and a can cream of mushroom soup to make a gravy, serve with instant potatoes, canned green beans and canned carrots. Just as yummy as my made from scratch roast beef dinner, and a lot less work.

Saute some onions and peppers in a skillet. Heat the roast beef. Pile roast beef on a bun, top with onions and peppers, and a slice of swiss cheese. Broil for a minute or two in the oven, for a philly cheesesteak sandwich.

Get a ball blue book it's a great guide and it gives you all the guidelines. I would start sourcing jars and replacement lids right away. I canned the venison that was left from last year in the freezer. Let it thaw slowly and have a bowl ready for any trimmings and bones. I usually make broth or soup in the instant pot while the jars of meat are processing.

Your prepper videos gives me and others an excellent jump start in our thought process for survival. I didn't know sour cream came in powder form because I never saw it at my food stores. Take a look at Sam's Club Kirkland brand canned beef in beef broth (no gravy). It has 1/4 the sodium, 2/3 of the cholesterol, no carbs (probably from the gravy in the Hereford brand) and 2 grams less protein. It gives me more flexibility in what I can make with it. BBQ sandwiches, beef stroganoff, tacos, burrito, chimichanga, soups & stews, etc. anything needing shredded or chunked beef.

I was very surprised by the venison chunks I just pressure canned. I did the raw pack method and put the meat chunks and a little salt in each jar. During proccessing it made its own liquid and it tastes just like beef pot roast! The other night I was tired so I did the same thing. A jar of meat, instant mashed potatoes and a can of vegetables.

That was a great idea! I always buy canned corned beef and it comes from Brazil or Argentina; both countries are top beef producers. On your suggestion, I tried this brand of corned beef, and it was better quality. I lived in the suburbs of Baltimore from 1970-1995 and THE comfort food was always sharing a platter of fries & brown gravy. I bought 1 can of Great Value roast beef and was going to try it on open faced sandwiches and fries with a jar or package of brown gravy mix. I know that’s a lot of carbs, but if a nice salad or some fruit on the side, I think it would be nice. However, the Hereford brand , even just on the can looks better quality! Love your tips! Ty!

@@AlaskaGranny -I like to make an opened face sandwich, put it in the microwave just to warm it a bit, take it out and place a slice of either provolone or Swiss cheese on top of each slice and reheat in microwave for about 15-20 seconds. It’s delicious and very filling, and then will have canned fruit after my stomach has some room! I’ve eaten just the plain cold sandwich with mustard, too. Both great!l

@@midtennprepper6200 that’s the only way? I think Provolone is dipped in wax, but that’s a whole lot of cheese, and nothing for the end that you cut. A word of caution. I would avoid canned meat from Uruguay at all costs. A few years ago I opened a can of corned beef from Uruguay, and it was rancid. I took it back to the supermarket where it was purchased, the manager inspected it, instantly refunded my money, and immediately pulled all the Uruguay canned meats from the shelves. I have purchased many cans of meat from Brazil and I've never had a problem. Good video AlaskaGranny. Cheers.

That Nido milk is the best! It's probably got chemicals in it that aren't that clean but as far as flavor and functionality it's perfect for putting in my coffee or hot chocolate if I'm out of milk and to carry with me when I travel. I don't have to worry about it spilling or spoiling. I also use canned Meats when I travel. You could heat the beef, add a bit of soy sauce and some cut green peppers from the freezer (or fresh) and serve over some cooked rice. Pretty yummy and quick.🙂

I used the canned beef in broth to make a shepards pie inspired casserole. I mixed the beef w/ brown gravy (used the broth 2 make it), a can of peas & carrots, 1/2 a can of green beans in bottom of dish. Topped with Wisconsin Cheddar mashed taters & finely shredded cheese & baked on 400° for 30 min's. Let cool for 10. Was SO delicious 😋 😍

@@theIAMofME I'm going to take a look where I live and buy it if it io on the shelf. Membership stores seem to sell what they can get; can't rely on them to have a consistent supply of "specialty foods". My Sam's Club hasn't had seasoned chicken breasts for over 6 months. It's a good base for chicken parmesean and chicken fried chicken. I'm too lazy to start from scratch if I can avoid it.
