When it comes to combining unrestrained maliciousness, involving song writing and technical precision Cannibal Corpse have no equal. Formed in Buffalo, NY in 1988, Cannibal Corpse helped found, manipulate and transcend the very boundaries of death metal beginning with the scandalously controversial debut, Eaten Back To Life. Raising the eyebrows of inquisitive metal fans and incensed parents and politicians, the record - produced by Scott Burns at the now renowned Morrisound Studios - was more extreme and confrontational than anything the Death Metal genre had ever known. As a result of the band's gruesome cover art, grisly lyrics and song titles like "Hammer Smashed Face," "Meat Hook Sodomy" and "Addicted to Vaginal Skin," follow-up records Butchered at Birth (1991) and Tomb Of The Mutilated (1992) were met with further contempt by the likes of such organized censorship leagues as the PMRC. In just three years, the sale of Cannibal Corpse merchandise was (temporarily) prohibited in Australia, Korea, New Zealand and Germany.
Proving technical dexterity, diabolic vocal grunts and a penchant for serial killers, zombies and gore of all shapes, sizes and textures, Cannibal Corpse won over the hearts of many a metal extremist and have since become a harrowing household name. Since the band's inception they have sold millions of albums world wide and show no sign of slowing or bowing down to the ever changing metal genre.

I so hope to hangout with Corpsegrinder and his family at Disney sometime. Hopefully if I meet his wife Stacy we can be friends again. My parents hate Cannibal Corpse and I still live with them for now and they’ve threatened to kick me out if I kept listening to them but they haven’t yet. I still hope that at least one of his daughters starts a band one day even though it won’t be Metal from what I know about them and if they do and I go on tour with Cannibal Corpse and they’re on tour at the same time as us maybe we’ll see them if they’re playing on one of our off nights. I think the only Metal Song that Maya and Abigail Fisher know is Abigail by King Diamond in fact Abigail his youngest daughter is named after his 1987 album Abigail.

The one thing I don't get about this song. They used 6 string guitars in G# standard, which is a step high of being in 8 string tuning, but use 7 string guitars in A# standard, which is 1 step higher than this

The only time lamb of god was death metal was when they weren't actually lamb of god. They were burn the priest. You can say portions of The new American gospel was death but that's about it. Lamb of God is my favorite band. There is no way to compare the two bands it makes no sense

+Ryan Spencer Lamb of God is a lot closer to Pantera than it is to Cannibal Corpse. not once have they sung about being eaten by putrid decomposing zombies, strategies for successfully committing serial murder or gnawing on mangled stumps of amputated maggot-infested limbs. but they do sing about being from the south. which is why i rarely listen to them, but listen to CC almost every day.
