The first time I canned cream cheese, my son came home from work and asked what it was. When I told him it was cream cheese he said "just because you can, doesn't mean you should". It wasn't long later that he was wanting a treat that needed cream cheese and I didn't have any in the fridge. Walked to the pantry and grabbed one of my jars to use and said "aren't you glad I canned this and had in the pantry?". He finally admitted it was a good thing. Lol. I just did some freezer meals to prepare for winter and used all the cream cheese I had in the pantry. It's so great to keep on hand!

I started doing this around a month ago. I buy 4 blocks at 16.99 a piece in Canada. I make different flavors. I opened one and I am amazed at how fresh they hold up. I'm loving it and making it for Christmas gifts also as well as waxing 4 types of cheeses for gifts.

I’ve been water bath canning cream cheese for a while now , and I add onion chives, garlic, and a smidge of red pepper flakes and salt. Every one that has tried it have been bugging me for more . Great video !!!! ( and bacon bits too ) .

I don’t think this would be any different (concerning safety) than re-canning the nacho cheese…. And I see a whole lot of people doing that. So I say go for it! Could it be done in 4 oz jars? That might sound silly, but I am the only one in my household that will eat cream cheese. I can only it small amounts on toast or crackers and such. So it tends to get a bit funky before I can finish it. If it could be canned in 4 oz jars, that would work perfectly for me. Thanks for sharing. Blessings to y’all. ❤️🙏

Love my canned cream cheese!! I detested trying to get the softened warmed cream cheese into the jars til I hit on the idea of putting it into a Ziplock gallon freezer bag. Cut a corner out & squeeze the cc into the jars. You still have to fight the air bubbles in the jar but you do have more control of getting it INTO the jars & not all over the counter.... my attempts were not as neat as yours! 😉 God bless!

I buy the #10 can of cheddar cheese and can in pint jars. Process as for meat. Turns out good. I use it up within a year.

I’m wondering if you still had some moisture in your jar or if it siphoned? I have never had an issue with this, or my family members and friends who have tried it. So sorry it did not work for you!

I just did mine up. I had watch others when I did this. I thought I had all the air bubbles out but when I took them out of the canner there was a lot of pockets!. Next time I'll use the chopstick like you did. According to another lady on you tube she said that hers was fine with the pockets after water bathing here. So u hope so

Is the consistency the same when you open the jars as it would be out of the package? Wondering if there is a texture change as some items canned have. Very interested in trying this when we find cream cheese on sale!

I pressure can milk. Cold milk, cold canner, vent 10 minutes. Bring up to your elevations pressure, then turn canner off. Let cool.
