This looks like an awesome team that takes you to the top of Cannon Mountain for some awesome views on the former home of the Old Man of the Mountain.

Thanks for watching. I rode in one of the old cars too back in 1974. I have very fond memories of the area. I visited with my brothers. It was our first trip away from home without our parents. We had a blast.

That sounds like a really great trip. Did you go to the Flume Gorge, too? Cannon Mt., The Flume, and the Old Man are still video memories in my brain, 65 years later! I was 4 years old back then. What a great area!

Yes, I went to all of those places back in 1974. I also remember a place called Lost River. I remember having fun crawling over rocks and through caves. Unfortunately I can no longer do things that require a lot of walking, so I had to skip those places this time. And the old man fell off the mountain several years ago, so he's no longer there.

Oh yeah, I heard about the fall of the old man in '03. At least they have a park set up in his honor. Looking at him terrified me when I was only 4 yrs old. He looked real to my young mind! I'll have to look for the Lost River if I ever get back, but I live far far away now and the knees and feet, like yours, probably wouldn't make it. Anyway, thanks for all your videos of that whole region. They are really great fun to watch because you let the camera tell the story without stupid comments and rock music so often found in other KZbin stuff. Your videos make the viewer feel almost as if he/she is there.

I will be 63 in August. Last I had been to the White Mountains was in 1994. I'm originally from Brockton, Mass and lived in several states and now in Nashville, Tennessee. My family and I used to go camping in the White Mountains in the 70s, thus having gone to these places, Cannon Mt Tramway, Lost River, The Flume, Clark's trained bears, Indian Head, Old Man (Which was on the end of Cannon Mountain). 1994, A friend and I stopped off a short time at a few of these places as we did a road trip on RT 3 going through the mountains to Northern N.H. and cut West to Vermont and the Green mountains. Stopped off at Quiche Gorge after stopping for a little while in a little town that I don't recall the name of. It reminded me so much of Mayberry on the Andy Griffith show. Small and "QUIET" with only the sounds of a breeze. From there South back to Massachusetts into N. Adams in the mountains of the Mohawk Trail and home again. I had been to all these places except those mentioned in Vermont. It was a beautiful trip.

I actually went to this 26 years ago and I remember the lodge was very very old-fashioned and outdated. And they had something there that I can't help but ask about. I don't know if it's still there. They had an antique PA microphone to make the announcements.
