I think they wasted a good opportunity to not make Omega look like Zero's original body from MMX. That might explain why the Zero we know is so different.

Inti responded to this some time ago, they wanted to use a more "organic" style, where reploids where not that much different from humans, thats why they just used a different color. Also, a really good touch was that on MMX 6 the only weapon capable of trully hurting Zero was the Z saber, and thanks to X, the "Zero copy" has it, so defeating the original body has a lot more meaning.

They just changed art directions. While I admit that would've been cool, it doesn't make sense since in the story Zero has always looked as he does in MMZ and MMX simultaneously. Think of just like a different artistic depiction of sorts.

Inti creates wanted to use the original Zeros sprite from MMX for omega but there were time constraints so they just used a recolour of copy Zero, at least that’s what I heard

@@habibahmed9389 No, it would have look weird to have the MMX and MMZ style on the same place, also it doesn't make any sence, since canonically, when Weil stole the original Zero body to store Omega a perfect replica of teh boy was created to store the original Zero data. So, in the MMZ series X and Zero have always looked like that.
