Nice one! I can't wait to have that same bike next week and start playing around with it. scalpel carbon 3 pretty well spec'd bike for the price.

Exactly my thoughts, I didnt mention the tool storage under the front bottle cage. This can be purchased from your dealer.

Thanks for the review! Very timely as I have just ordered the Scalpel Carbon 2 just to get upgraded wheels and brakes. Interested to know if you thought the Upgrades were worth it.
@raycoxphoto4 жыл бұрын
Brakes weren't an issue on this model at all, the Shimano stuff is solid. But yhea wheels are key.

Thanks for the review. I have a 2013 model and it was my only bike for a few years, now I use it for events and racing only, but I think it may be time to retire it. With the relaxed geometry of the newer bikes can you share thoughts on how it compares to older models?

Great video and interesting review. Do you have any chain damage to the paint just behind the crank? The demo model I used had quite a few chips. I was curious whether it was abuse or general wear and tear due to the lack of a frame protector.
@raycoxphoto4 жыл бұрын
I think that's if the clutch is not working on the detailer and the user drops a chain then cranks it up into that area. All three Ive ridden have been pretty spotless only chips being from rocks flying up.
@GoodPrice13 жыл бұрын
You should check if the chainguide above the crank is spaced correctly from the chain

High Raymond, I wanted to ask you what´s your height and which size did you pick as I am 1,75 cms /6´9" and I am wondering if I should pick size M o size L. Thank you very much!
@raycoxphoto4 жыл бұрын
Hey, Demo'd the M but honestly L is now my size and I'm 178cm. Seems more cramped than earlier Dales.

I have a 2017 Scalpel, hard to imagine anything being faster or better!

Modern XC bikes are all better, lighter, slacker head angle and even 120mm travel being introduced to the market. S-Works Evo being one of them.
@fhowland3 жыл бұрын
@@raycoxphoto I don’t think slack head angle is better. My scalpel is 69.5. I used to race on 72 degree HA 26” hardtails!
