A Live Birth - and a true team effort (Cannon Hall Farm)!

One of our pedigree shorthorn cows is giving birth - but she's struggling and needs the strength and patience of Farmers Wade, Danny and Charlotte to help her get this calf delivered safely.
Although this looks like scary at times, this true team effort saved both the calf and his mum - and the equipment allowed us to make it as safe as possible - but this really did take every inch of Wade's expertise.

Brilliant job gang! No panic...just smart instincts and discussions and give this first time mom a Christmas Surprise! These types of video really do bring the whole farm into focus and we all see the incredible lengths The Farmers all go to so that these Moms are as comfortable as possible and that the babies have a fighting chance! It was an unnecessary ordeal for the poor cow. Shorthorns are supposed to be able to give birth on their own, since they're a landrace breed. But then it couldn't be used as a spectacle, could it?
