The Canobie Lake Park Express has been shortened to less than half the original length of the line to make room for the new water park opening in Summer 2018. The shorter line now terminates across from the Dragon Roller Coaster. There is an opportunity to extend the line past the picnic area on the other direction and loop to the front of the park which might bring visitors down to the firework display and back to the entrance.

Benjamin Spunt I read about that and was disappointed. But I hope they do extend it into the grove.

Sucks they abandoned this section of track to build a new ride. Train only goes in a small loop now.

Wow.... It started slipping and actually laid down at one point. Curious if it was a humid day, too much weight or not enough speed. Wonder if there is a slight grade as well. Cute little train though.

It was a pretty frigid day, in the 40s with high winds. The engineer was new and was being trained, so I think that had a lot to do with it.

The park reminds me of the old Joyland Park in Wichita, KS, where fifty years ago, I often ran the first Chance C.P. Huntington. Much more recently, I spent eight years of summer weekends running this train’s “little brother,” a 15” gauge coal burning Crown at Little Toot Railroad in Flora, IL. Crowns were built in 15”, 24”, and 36” gauges. The first was built in 1959 and is one of three owned by Little Toot. The large Crowns are still in service at Busch Gardens, Kings Island, and various Six Flags parks. Notable among them is the “Katherine,” formerly owned by Michael Jackson at his Neverland home. Crown ceased production in the mid-1970’s. Before its demise, Crown had acquired the rights to the Westinghouse steam air brake pump designs. Those rights, as well as other Crown stock and rights were transferred to Tweetsie Railroad, who still services those brake pumps and supplies some Crown parts.

I think the engine could use a new whistle.

I go there basically yearly. It's really small, I don't know if it even has the boiler pressure for one.

The one at six flags st louis needs a new whistle sometimes it sounds great and sometimes it sounds scratchy crap
@DustyWingsProductions2 жыл бұрын
It definitely needs something easier on the ears. That whistle is pretty nasty sounding.

Beautiful park. Slow train.
@MIKES00293 жыл бұрын
It's almost like the train didn't have enough pressure, crazy slow and the whistle didn't even sound.

It's been shortened into a small area, so it's basically a kiddie ride now..

Very strange miniature train the way it runs. It doesn't move at a steady 15 MPH speed like most do at amusement parks. My favorite style miniature train is THE SKYCHIEF DIESEL engine. Birth Hill Game Park had that in Patterson New York.
@sjtom579 жыл бұрын
Nice vid but what a horrible ride. Too slow, lousy whistle, and that dang guy going overboard with the bell.
