Deno's Wonder Wheel Park Review, Coney Island Amusement Park | More than Just the Wonder Wheel!

I went there this year, and this park cemented my opinion that boardwalk parks are my favorite amusement parks! The overall atmosphere is unmatched and I love it. And although it's a bit pricey Phoenix in the Wonder wheel are completely worth the price!

Sir, i very much appreciate this review! Denos wonderwheel park is the best park in Coney Island. I don’t just say that because i work there and operate that beautiful phoenix, but i say it because it’s old fashioned Coney Island. Wonder wheel 103 years old, the bumper cars in the park in the original bumper cars from Astro land, but the story behind how the family became owners of the wheel. Deno looked at his wife to be and said “I’m going to buy you the biggest ring” and he did by buying Luna the wonder wheel. Great video and if you ever want to do a video in the Phoenix I’m more then happy to let you. Just ask for the Coneyislandkid 👍🏻

I prefer Luna Park. I like Deno's too. I just wish they had a wristband.

As a child in Brooklyn in the early 60's, my sisters and I often went to Coney Island with our uncle. Such wonderful memories of the beach and the public pool. After a day of swimming we went to the rides. The tilt-a-whirl and wonder wheel were our favorites. We had a choice of cotton candy or a candy apple for the subway ride home to Park Slope. My husband and I are planning a road trip back east next summer. I am looking forward to sharing my favorite memories with him.

They may only have 2 standout things in that Vekoma suspended coaster and Ferris wheel but those are the only things they need to have fun here. It's probably not a full day park but it can be cause the only 2 good attractions they have still never get old.

You don't have to be a big "fancy" themed park. This is where they got their roots from. The irony is a Disney park has a "Wonder wheel" as well. What you spend @ Starbucks can be had in ThRiLLs @ Deno's. I love a good dark ride of spook house!

1:55 I visited coney island for the first time this summer since 2014, and was really disappointed to find out the Ghost Hole was closed. Ive always wanted to ride it but now it's gone. That makes the Spook A Rama the last dark ride at coney island. I hope down the road the owners of both parks consider bringing some old school dark rides to their property to add more variety instead of just kiddie rides.

Why weren't more built??? It's honestly such a neat idea, and was way ahead of it's time. Crazy that all the major parks are content with the same Ferris Wheels.

I think it's a bit of a category violation. Ferris wheels aren't normally thrill rides at all--parks put them in to add a sedate, scenic family attraction to their mix. A Wonder Wheel (apart from the minority of non-swinging cabs) is functionally a completely different type of ride that serves a different purpose, appealing to at least moderate thrill-seekers. And there are many other types of ride for them.

All I know is, the roller coaster I have ridden the most times in my life (due to my dad status)--the Dragon kiddie coaster at Canobie Lake Park--used to live here.

I am actually okay with them having no wrist bands because the only rides here that I'd be in a hurry to ride are the two dark rides, Phoenix and of course the Wonder Wheel.

Good for Deno's to resist selling out to Thor Equities seeing what happened when we were all making memes about Cedar Fair and Six Flags (ie Luna Park has an expiration date in the name of a casino, minus the Cyclone on property not owned by Thor Equities which I imagine Deno's will take over the lease and operation of).

I respect them for staying family owned, but it does cause a lot of guests to get confused because of where it is.

@@CanobieCoaster I am worried about Coney Island's future with that casino though. The diagram I saw only had Thunderbolt, Deno's, and Cyclone present for what's currently there (the Cyclone would probably become part of Deno's as that property is owned by the city and not Thor Equities, the Thunderbolt would become part of the casino, very Vegas like). And while the rooftop coasters in the concept art do look better than anything we'll loose from Luna Park I must say I'm worried Thor Equities will start to cut into the good stuff eventually. That and I mean casinoflation is very real, can see price per ride going up as a result of it.
