We are doing this trip this coming weekend, did you find you were pushing for time or was it more of a relaxed pace? It's only 80km or so, did the backtrack to portage to phillips set you back a full day? The portage looked that gross eh?

We were not pushed for time but we had 6 days. From what we remember the portage at the end is steep and narrow. If you do it let us know how it went. Have fun!

Has any body every fished Setting lake or Brostrom Lake ? Is there any far sized fish in ether lake?

The old resort owner is gone. He always said no fish in Brostrom and I don't believe him. There is a campground on Brostrom now. I use boats and canoes I can carry with outboards. If I can carry a boat in can I fish it? On satellite images it appears to be a road or path to the lake just after the bridge. I want to fish that lake and see what's in it.
