Canoeing the Great Glen and Caledonian Canal in Scotland.
With my daughter Maya and Billie the dog.
Days 3 and 4 Loch Ness and finishing down the canal to Inverness
The trip is some 97km or 60 miles. This time were were to spend three and a half days doing the trip. Normally when I guide it I allow five days. Paddling tandem I have paddled it in a single day (tandem with Chris Charlton).
Day 1 is at: • Canoeing Across Scotla...
Day 2 is at: • Canoeing Across Scotla...
The canal website is: www.scottishca...
We had paid for a facilities key from the canal office at Corpach. Payment is per person not per key although they took one look at Maya and only charged me for one. Please don’t abuse this and pay for one when you are a group. The facilities are good and have to be financed. There are few places that go out of the way to welcome us as paddlers.
If you enjoyed this then consider supporting the channel by making a small donation at: www.buymeacoff...
My paddle is the WW Big Dipper and Maya is using the WW Dipper by freebirdpaddle...

Signed copies of my illustrated book 'Canoeing', are available direct from me or from Amazon. It covers far more than my KZbin channel.
Outside of the UK the cheapest way to get my book is via the Book Depository which does free postage worldwide: www.bookdeposi....

Trying hard to do that for her (and me). I just hit 70 and Maya is only 12 so I want to do as much as possible.

Always cool to run into friends on a trip. Again, looks like a beautiful place to paddle, I definitely need to get over to that side of the world one of these days. Thanks again for sharing with us.

Lovely trip, Ray. Those kids were very kind, weren't they, helping out like that? Nice to see these days. Thanks for posting.

Yep great kids. Not only helping out but so used to the outdoors and doing stuff they were effective as well. Great to see them and Maya in the camp, just so natural. Anyway thanks for commenting, it is appreciated.

What time of year was the trip please? You seemed to have some slightly strong winds at times - but made for great progress! I've not yet fitted a sail to my 16ft mad river explorer. I feel watching this that it would make it tons easier.
