Greetings from Poland! I paddle with my daughters (3 of 4, oldest doesn't like it, shes too old ;😅) old town penobscot 17,4 is my boat. Our dog loves canoeing as we do. My son is kayaker, he's solo adventurer. Hope to visit Your rivers, maybe 2025! God bless PAX

Love to see the young ones out, especially sitting right up front on the deck. What a hoot for her. 💖

I was on a canoe trip from Pennsylvania to New Orleans when Hurricane Hugo hit and flooded the Ohio River. We had to wait until it crested to see if it came up into the trees because if it did, we couldn't get to shore safely. It crested after rising 26' but wasn't in the trees so we took off and paddled. It flowed extremely fast, and you had to miss the occasional hot water tank. OTOH, we picked up an entire canoe full of tennis balls.

That was really hard.

A friend and I had planned a trip down the Buffalo in northern Arkansas. Already positioned a pickup vehicle at the takeout when we were told by a ranger the water was too high and we couldn't float. We changed put in to a place a bit further up stream and enjoyed the most unexciting float ever on the stream. All the usually difficult spots had so much water flowing over them there was never a reason for finesse. The only problems were easily avoided strainers.
