The dogs were having so much fun. Yes, communication is the most important rule in rv life. 😂 Thanks for the adventure. I’m glad you are all safe and sound. Enjoy your adventures.

I can guarantee that I will not be canoeing down the Colorado when I get to Moab. Thanks for letting me experience this great ride from the comfort of my chair!

Hahahahaha! So after a couple months to reflect on it... we would totally do it again, but we would check the weather more closely. It was so fun!

He would be thrilled and likely have met us out here! He was a very adventurous and wild man. My grandmother could never get him to sleep in the house, even as a kid, so they turned the shed into his bedroom when he was a teenager.

Loved that you two plus pups explored the river! Canoeing is a blast. But, maybe take some paddling lessons (ACA) as you two shouldn't be switching sides. And maybe flotation air bags at both bow and stern in case you turn over. Thank you that you and the pups for wearing your PFD's! And yes the wind can be a royal a pain.

I grew up on the Colorado River and I know it very well and when the wind is fighting the current things can get pretty choppy. I remember one float trip I got too cranky with the wind and got in the water with the canoe tied to my life vest and I swam. I don’t recommend it for others but I learned to swim in that river and I am fine. Glad you both made it safe….oh and beautiful video of the eagle.

OMG, you must be one heck of a swimmer! I don't think swimming would have helped us out! Luckily, we knew not to take anything lightly while on the water, and we were safe in the end. We would totally do it again, but maybe watch the weather better next time, lol!

Fun episode. I'm a fan of canoeing! We have a Kevlar 18ft. Sundowner that we would for years take it to the Boundary Waters in Minnesota. Rosie and I have been married 53 years now and still travel in our Brinkley Z3100 about 7 months a year. Keep having fun. I like the choice of music. Check out the song I wrote for the Sailing site Sailing into Freedom. He uses it a lot. It started on episode 265 at the one-minute mark. Also, on my you tube site. Burlington Bill.

That's a nice craft you have!! I don't think we would be able to haul anything that long. We are looking at either a Kayak or a 13 ft canoe... still debating and saving up for the rack that goes over the cab of the truck.

Oh, and we will for sure check out that song!

@@LesbiFITAdventures The Winona Sundowner is a touring canoe. With bent shaft paddles it just flies across the lakes in the Boundary Waters. Also hold a lot of gear and at 47 LB's can be carried easy on the portages. For rivers or any kind of rapids I would opt for a kayak. We spend the winter off grid in the LTVA just outside of Yuma Az. We are on the back waters of the Colorado river. Lots of folks bring kayaks. Enjoy my music and your travel.
