Build a fire wet conditions?? This was an example of building a fire in PERFECT conditions: clear, dry, no wind and loads of dry kindling and wood. How about a video of building a fire on the 4th day of a 4 day downpour and your ziplock "possibles" bag is wet inside!

Tips from a woods pyromaniac: Ditch the manmade firestarters. They have a shelf life and can fail if depended upon after having been in storage for years. An ideal fire kit would be comprised of all natural materials that can literally last for years and become more trustworthy the more they dry out. It's the complete opposite of manmade firestarters. Not only that, they can be replenished for free from nature. Plus, they leave no trace of chemicals in the field. I would highly recommend fatwood (resin soaked wood at the bases of fallen pine trees and at knot & limb sections) and birch barks that start ignite even when wet. Tulip (or Yellow) Poplar Bark is also another excellent firestarter.
