Exactly. The photographer here didn't do a great job focusing. The video footage is ridiculously badly shot. I had the 1300D (older model of the 4000D) two years ago and it's a very capable camera in capable hands. Inexperienced photographers are better off getting the iPhone, because it corrects many of the user errors, a DSLR not so much.

I think the purpose was this is what the images look like right after clicking the shutter button. That being said, I agree any minor editing would have put the canon significantly ahead

i own both. i just got the canon 4000d. i cannot figure out how to get the camera to focus the auto focus option on the lens never seems to work unless the person is right in front of the lens. could you make a video on settings and shooting better photos with this camera? for beginners there’s very few on here! thank you i enjoy your content

DSLRs can still easily crush smartphones especially with taking photos when you use an actual decent lens (not necessarily an expensive one, a cheap nifty fifty under $170 can do the job just don't use the kit lens) and know how to use manual modes (that's what pro cameras are designed for)

Just a short review from an actual 4000D user: this camera is absolutely not as bad as its being made out to be here. It definitely will not be at the level of Canon's top competing DSLR/mirrorless systems that you'll be spending an arm and a leg for, but it will 100% outdo any cellphone you put it up against. Photo's are just fine, and so is video. It all comes down to the person using the camera - so do not let the misconceptions of its price or the comparisons KZbinrs do with more expensive systems put you off. This camera is perfect for anyone who is wanting to get into the photography game. Enjoy!

@@KaiCreative This isn't me taking shots at you, so don't get me wrong 😂 I'm just explaining my view from someone who is a first time user of the camera having no prior experience with any other non-budget DSLR systems to compare with. It's not shooting your video down by any means, but most of the videos surrounding this camera often include the mindset of the cameras features not being on par with those better than it, so this was just to clear that up. I actually used your other 4000D video (along with many others) before purchasing my own DSLR 😂

nope that's not a fair comparison any photographer would agree on that, cuz there's a huge difference between a DSLR camera and an Iphone i have both and i totally disagree and obviously canon is much better if u know how to use it, in addition to other factors regarding lenses , settings ... so basically this video was meant to promote for the Iphone.

Yes, you're right they are not on the same category. But I think this video is not intended for professional photographers who knows the real power of DSLR. I think this video is for people like me who is just simply looking for a better photo output and its up to us whether to choose the expensive iPhone or go with this inexpensive Canon 4000D. @KaiCreative thanks a lot for this video because it helped a lot in my decision making.

I wonder why nowadays we have to spend a minimum of 500€ on cameras to get superior quality compared to phones that weren't originally designed for photography. It's sad to think that below 500€, it's more advantageous to stick with your phone, which, in my opinion, doesn't look professional, even though it's convenient. This takes away all the appeal of a 250€ camera that only offers 1080p, while smaller devices like GoPros or used iPhones provide better resolution. Or maybe I'm missing something about what cameras offer in addition to phones?

Not true. I recently bought a Sony A7 Fullframe camera that had a 50mm F1.8 on it for €350. Then I got the Sony kitlens for €100 and a Viltrox 85mm 1.8 for €170. A great setup for a bit over €500 but it will easily destroy any smartphone. Check the secondhand market, prices are really low at the moment since a lot of people are selling their equipment.

I have a canon 4000d and didn't know that he would be better than the iphone. From the picture I couldn't tell but than you mentioned the digitalish look of the iphone and I realized the bad background of the iphone and so on. But sometimes it seemed like the iphone would have more details, or it is just me? Especially on the beige jacket at the first pics.

Yes you will see more details in some of the photos and this is down to the pixel count of the sensor - the 4000D has an 18MP sensor and the iPhone 14 pro main camera has a 48MP sensor 👍

I would consider a second hand canon m50 with the Kit lens (15-45mm) I loved that set up for video and you can get a good deal if you shop around 🫶
