Good one. I agree with the AF system, it's snappy, assertive and confident. I did high speed bursts and out of 175 images, I only lost half a dozen shots that missed focus. Also agree with the connectivity. With the Canon Connect app, it works easily and reliably for both WiFi and NFC - great tip on the battery drain with WiFi, thanks. The touchscreen is full featured, intuitive and responsive, felt like an iPhone. I'll check out the AWB issue, thanks again. And yup, I like the camera too. It's a suped up Mark III, old faithful, solid and capable, feels the same in hand, but it's got that new feeling too.

Great review and test. BTW, do you know that1cameraguy here on KZbin? He was on the other side of the street for that parade, also testing his 5d Mark IV video for a KZbin review, and got some footage of the same horses (like rider #40).

I also tested the NFC with my phone also, connects way easier than wifi from the 6D.

Is it just me or do almost all the pictures look out of focus?? I had to double check from my phone and for some reason they all seem like you missed focus

+JseanSSent I hope they are not out of focus. A few of the pictures were sized for the Web and then brought over to i movie instead of uploading the original file maybe that is why? But that would only account for a few images. I did find for JPEG's the 5d Mark IV images look very flat with the standard profiles. They required a lot of contrast and some sharpening. Most of these pics are straight out of camera.

Yeah. Just about all of his shots look soft. :/

Yes. They all appear soft. But that's Canon's full frame and its antialiasing filter at the widest aperture. It's always been like that when you shoot at F1.2-1.8, which looks like all these shots were shot at.

If you wait about 5 months Adorama will likely have a 5D4 blowout sale promo on eBay where you can snag it for $2,700. They did that with the mark 3 doing a sale of a few hundred units in Sep 2012 and then again after that. Def worth $150+/mo and I think makes an upgrade from 5D3 (which I shoot with as well) much more appealing, lowering the difference between 5D4 purchase price and used value of 5D3 to around $700ish.

Nice video mate. I am shooting videos and cannot get the HDR movie mode to turn on. Any ideas what am I doing wrong?

Shot some HS football with it and it passed the af test going too test bit again on fri and sat

Yes I agree they do look out of focus. And this is a $3,300.00 camera it only shoots 7 fps really? maybe he should try the Nikon D500 just saying.

Isn't this typical of canon, fuction out wieghing specks. The 80D was the same rubbished in preview videos, then people got to actually use it and said hey this isn't bad at all.
