This camera is the BOMB! I replaced my loved 5d3 with a 5DS R. The images from the 5DS R amaze. The total image quality is simply stunning and the detail is like nothing else in a 35mm format. Thank you Canon!

Listening to Gregory and Rudy over two days for this vlog, I’ve gone out and bought the 5dsr. So nearly went Sony ( something was bugging me about that) thank god I didn’t go that way. Rudy you made a sale today and I still got all my L lenses. I’ve been Canon for a long time and it’s just been revitalised. Thanks 🙏 Tony

I'm ordering this camera from B&H tonight for $1299, the price alone makes it worth it. I use a Nikon D800 and a Canon 6D and I'm looking forward to the increase in resolution with the 5Ds, I can't wait to see the images from my favorite lenses, the 35 f/2 IS, 85 f/1.8 USM, 24-105 f/4 L IS, 70-200 f/4 L, 100-400 f/4.5-5.6 L IS and Tamron 90 f/2.8 macro. I want to see the image results before considering an upgrade of my Canon lenses to better glass. I also have a Tokina 17-35 f/4 AT-X and I have a feeling that lens will be upgrade to the Canon 16-35 f/4 L IS!

For me, the most critical reason for me to upgrade is not because of huge megapexels but because of AWB(W). This new AWB is the most accurate in most situation.

It's November 2020 and I purchased the 5Ds from B&H a few weeks ago for $1299.00. I was thinking about buying the Canon 6D mark II as a second full frame body to use with my old 6D and watching this video and videos like this convinced me the 5Ds was the way to go. I have no plans to upgrade lenses, I'm using the Canon 35 f/2 IS, 85 f/1.8 USM, 17-40 f/4L, 24-105 f/4 L IS, 70-200 f/4 L, 100-400 f/4.5-5.6 IS L and a Tamron 90 f/2.8 Macro (non VC) and every lens I own is much sharper with the 5Ds. Fast media makes a big difference with the 5Ds and I'm using fast Sandisk 64gb SD and CF cards.

5 years later...still have to find one single image with moiré on 5DSR shots. Even after tried to get one on fabrics etc. I don't know how they managed to get this much moiré on the jacket. Seriously...

what i want to know is why canon are so far behind nikon and sony with sensor tech .. im a canon shooter .. i shoot sports and that is really the only reason i shoot canon as canon is the leader .. but for all other genres of stills and also video .. the other brands are far in front .. i really feel canon have just been on a massive capital gathering exercise being paid for by loyal canon shooters

Also, because the Nikon cameras use the same awesome sensor as the Sony A7 cameras (produced by Sony) and the massive investment by Sony to become the leader in the photo sensor industry. I'm not a Nikon hater but their product are the sum of different vendors. Unlike Nikon, Canon use far less vendors.

***** im not interested in brand.. im interested in thing that do the job. Canon have no excuses, they are a massive company and are letting us customers down that have invested thousands in lenses and other product ... the sensor development just isnt good enough .. greed is the the reason behind it ... as soon as i find another camera body that can match the 1dx and 7dmkII for autofocus and tracking accuracy and speed, ill be selling up my canon gear and switching after years and years of investing n Canon gear.

why not make a cheaper Medium Format instead of an expensive DSLR ??!? I would rather have big beautiful 22MPX on a 4.5 cm censor than a crappy 50mpx on a 35mm .... (bad low light, bad shake response, slow etc etc) still waiting for the real canon 5D MK 4

Canon spokes person, "We just waited to see what Nikon was doing then decided to do the exact same thing but with 50 mega pixels. We have evan realised two bodies just so we can get more money out of you all. We will say how close it is to medium format even though its not. Now still buy the MD3 and the 7D but get this too."

There is no such thing as a MF market. There is a Canon market, a Nikon market, a Sony market, a mirrorless market. MF is sold in so little numbers and to a such little number of studio photographers, that it doesn't even compete in the same league as dslr market. Put it more straight, the seven Phase Ones and the 10 Hasselblads sold last year no, they weren't affected by the thousands of 5ds sold last year

Duh, the best technology IS ON the 70D with the great dual pixel CMOS..... the best video, live view continuous focusing for a DSLR currently by far. Do you think Canon would put it on their $3700 camera? While I am not down sizing the benefit of 50mb, these cameras is a great sample of Canon marketing, very incremental technological offering, into what will be a high profit margin product line. I admire Canon as a company, but as a recipient of their products as an camera consumer... not so happy. Go Sony, go Samsung..... We need tougher competition. Nikon just can't compete with Canon, as they are financially in trouble.

lintownboy My Sony a6000 did not disappoint me at all. If anyone was disappointed by Sony mirrorless camera I'm pretty sure he has no knowledge of Sony mirrorless camera system and there is no desire to find out or learn about it. There may be some bad luck but it can happen to anyone and any brand. Even so I plan to sell my Sony a6000 because I realized I was not a professional photographer who needs ILCS. That is why I am I going to buy Sony RX10M2 and Sony 4K Action Cam / Go Pro.

lintownboy And i don't think people would be dissapointed with Sony a7R2 especially when you can use Canon lenses with acceptable AF. So now anyone who buy a7R2 will get 3 differences Lens lineup to use fast growing Native Sony FE lens, A Mount Lens and Canon lens. And we talk about the specs and features Sony a7R2 pratically the most cutting edge mirrorless camera on the market and you can use just 1camera to satify your photography and videography needs.
