Durability and reliability of 7D Mark 1 is significantly higher. While in the field photographing wildlife, Mark II may suddenly stop working. I've seen it with friends' cameras myself. One of my dealer friends has four Mark IIs for renting out. Mainboard of two of those crashed. Vetdict: 7D Mark 1 rules.

Hey bud the reason it takes the camera 3 mins to process a 3 min exposure is because you have the long exposure noise reduction function on. Switch that off and they process immediately.

I would say both cameras are great, just that canon 7D mark ll is just an upgrade of 7D. Don't put 7D into shitty reputation, it is still good in the market~

Have been shooting with the 7D for 8 years (purchased 2nd body) and the 7D2 for four (replaced mirror at 300k). They are BOTH fantastic bodies with completely different attitudes. I prefer the 7D for portrait, wedding and outdoor events because I don't need the AF complexities and 8fps is ample. And the 7D2 for sport, w/life, indoor/lowlight events - and I still shoot at 8fps. Oh BTW - DISABLE 7D flash under the first tab. Labeled...."FLASH"(!)

ok. When the 7d has 8 fps and the mark ii has 10, there is no way you getting double the amount of shots in the pinecone example. it was a throwing error

@5:00 you can turn off long exposure noise reduction and for 3 minutes of exposure you will wait for 0.1 seconds.

I love my 7D. Bought it £250 used with a lens as well. So easy to use and top quality. That Camera sensor can produce amazing quality photos if you know what you doing and Manual mode no Auto pls and use same lenses when doing a comparision.

Hi great review , but I think you will find that after you have taken a long exposure the time it takes to create the picture is due to if you have the reduce noise option selected in your settings , deselect this option and I think you will find it processes the picture much much quicker .

So the comment about bulb mode I didn't understand...... "If you have the shutter open for 3min and end the capture it will take another 3min to process." I have done some light painting shots with my 7D and as soon as I closed the shutter it was processed. Maybe you are talking about something different but that is how I took it.

the second exposure is called darkframe, to remove hot pixels, which appear when youre taking long exposures. the dark frame must have the exact same settings as the picture itself for the camera to clean up the hot pixels. so if you are taking a 10min and 22 seconds exposure with iso 200 for example, the camera will take another exposure with the same exposure time of10min and 22sec and an iso of 200. its not importaint how fast the camera is, it will take always the same time as the picture itself. you can turn tis on inside the menu.

If you are going to test a pair of cameras then when doing focusing then use the same lens on each body, cos' each lens will focus at different speeds, even when they are at the same focal lenght. Also when doing long exposure turn off noise reduction OFF even my old 50d does not take 3mins to process a 3min exposure. The noise in the auto focus is the lens !!!!!! My 7dii makes no noises.

i did not watch based on comments but i used my new mark 2 this weekend at Bosque Del Apache and it blew away my 7D. Its as simple as that. I was going to keep it since Adorama wont give me much but based on a recent trip with 7000 photos,. there is little to compare. The 7D sure is a low cost used.

I just don't think it is fair ok your using same shutter speeds and same aperture but look one lens much shorter and one has shade to get a real test switch lenses half way through it.. Of course the mark ii is a nicer camera but your still not fair on the test are the lenses same filter size all that changes and the longer one i think would take longer to focus. i want a new one i know they have better features but i still don't like your test .

You need to review boot cameras with the same lens... because the sigma is a zoom and the canon is a prime the difference on the overall quality will be a lot worse then it is in the reality Soo, delete this video and make a new one...
