I work with the GH5 and I love the 24-60 in 4k, 180 degree shutter lock, 120fps, articulating screen, IBIS and it never overheats. If the 90d competes in these spots, I'll trade up

I have the 80d and enjoy it. I also have a 6dII and an SL1 and enjoy them too. The one I use most? SL1. It's pure joy. Lightweight, take it everywhere and the image quality is EXCELLENT. Only two things about the 90d would make me want it: 1) The joy stick, for speed of moving focus points 2) Noticeably less noise than the 80d in low light situations (key word, NOTICEABLY, i.e. - obvious at normal view, not pixel peeping/scrutinizing). I have been happy with 80d's minimal noise levels in low light, so the 90d would have to be a vast improvement for me to buy it.

well one question : I have a 6DMark 2 but i Shoot far subjects, (animals, sports) then I have to crop in my images to close the subject. With an 1.6 coeff for the aps-c 32Mpix is it better, even with the new digit 8 processor to get a 90D talking about final image quality ??

Interesting info Peter. I sincerely hope silent shutter doesn't put the camera in full auto mode or limit user control. It will be interesting to see how close all of the speculation videos are to the production models. I'm going to keep wringing everything I can out of my m50 and enjoy my popcorn with some of the review videos.

pablobarriosjr I have borrowed Sony a6300 and it was very nice, with great results, but I hated the grip and the menus/buttons/dials. The a6400 feels a little bit better grip wise, but not much better re - menus/buttons/dials. Just not my thing I guess. There's no AF-S glas for such a high megapixel camera, this sensor was made for the EOS R glas, they just put it in the 90D for ease. So if they don't make any new high quality glas, there's only a point for this camera if you're a wildlife photographer and use EF optics, where you would crop anyway.

Hi - your question has the answer in it :) Yes - because a frame is a frame is a frame. Whether it's a "fake" frame or a real frame, it's a frame. IPB is seamless, you never know or can access the smoke and mirrors part, so to speak. Whatever it is getting played or viewed on, the algorithm will always serve you a frame :) It's a "boys and their toys" thing, there's real sour cream and there's powdered sour cream. As a guy, I want the real stuff even though the powdered is real too ha ha. In this case personally I think (know) you can taste the difference. But you need to dig just a bit deeper to identify the difference in quality between IPB and ALL-I.

First and foremost, this is a very informative video. Does it have clean HDMI out? At the 6:26 mark though, he says when you shoot through the viewfinder the mirror lifts and then the camera focuses. That is incorrect. When using the viewfinder, the camera focuses before raising the mirror.

90d (pronounce the t, and it's easier to say) sounds good to me. It all depends on pricing, which Canon mostly gets wrong, apart from the M50, and the RP, which is got right. If the price is right, £1200-ish, then it's time to sell my two 70d's, and my 7dMk1. Lets wait and see.

Canon 90D has to have 4K DPF NO Crop in video for me. I don't have problem on the still photos but 32.5MP is nice. Silent shutter is also nice. 10fps is acceptable in my opinion. I have many EF lenses that I can use. I like DSLR body, but someday I will get into the Mirrorless. I don't think Canon will put IBIS..I'm okay with price of $1200.00

Yes, Canon alwasy seems to put a major camera killer in the mix. My biggest point would be if they don't put dual pixel focus in 4K for some reason. Even a crop allows it to compete with m4/3rds, but a camera that can't focus is pretty major.

As long as you're not getting a mirrorless camera your EF/EF-S lens should work. Even then you can buy adapter for EF/EF-S lens

EXPBLUE I currently shoot with the Sony a6400. I’ve been considering making the switch to full frame for a while but the lenses are just so expensive. I currently only have my 16-50 kit lens and the Sigma 16mm 1.4 contemporary. The sigma 16, 30, and 56mm contemporary lenses are some of the best lenses I’ve ever seen when it comes to image quality and build quality. They’re even weather sealed. At this point I’m going to just stick to Crop sensor because with Sony camera technology moving as fast as it is, it’s only a matter of time before crop catches up with full frame.

Here is the simple truth - The 24p vs 30p topic is definitely a hot spot topic lol. If you have ONE camera and are not making movies for a defined audience like independent film makes and KZbin wannabe film makes, you will not miss 24p one bit, not even an inch lol. 24p would come into play like this: *You personally LIKE 24p *You have 2 cameras and you shot a video in the OTHER camera at 24p so now you have to match it in THIS camera and you find no 24p *You are entering a film contest where everyone else is doing 24p - so you should be too. *You have Monkey see, monkey do syndrome. Someone like Gerald Undone shoots 24p and I wanna be like him. Bottom line - you could shoot 30p for the rest of your life and never know the difference until someone tells you otherwise. MOST of the big money KZbinrs shoot 30P :)

I don't think Canon has any interest at all in giving 24p to the lower priced cameras. it seems to be a clear decision on their part from a marketing point of view so i do not see any firmware for something like that coming probably ever. That is one I hope I am wrong on, but it looks like they have made that pretty plain. Slow motion is always slowed down to "something". I am not strong on slow motion so you will have to do some research on that and KZbin is the place to do it :)

If the 90D is over $1000 it will be dead on arrival, there is still a huge market for an APSC DSLR, but with Canon EOS RP at $1300 a full frame, mirrorless, $1300 for an APSC DSLR is a hard sell.

30 megapixels if nice... full stop. It's so difficult to accept Canon's mindset. Feature crippling hurts the users but it is not too clear that it is actually helping Canon.
