Portkeys BM5 Monitor series are a good solution for the C70's missing SDI, as it allows you to cross convert HDMI with SDI.

true. Didn't really like those for shooting though. Too small and not bright enough. If you use AF a lot it's totally fine though

Perhaps all your HDMI issues are at least partially due to powering the camera and monitor from the same battery? E.g. if you power the camera and monitor with the same V-mount of power the camera with the DC output of the monitor. Not sure if you do that, but it can definitely destroy your HDMI if you do because the HDMI cable basically causes a short circuit.

I pair it with my c300MkII and I’m very happy with it. It’s basically my b-roll camera. I wish the record button handle side of the camera was different, maybe more like my other C cinema cameras. And I wish it had the standard C Log my c300MkII and C100mkII have. I was able to simulate the look on my camera so it’s not a big problem. Out side of that, I like the size, auto focus, face tracking, dynamic range.

What SD cards do you use? I have Pro Grade Digital 256gb V90 and when shooting in xf-avc, S&F, 120/23.976, I'll get a buffer overflow and it stops recording. I bought a Lexar 128gb V90 and it seems to be fine.

I've had that buffer issue with literally every type of card. I've also tried the fastest Sandisk cards... I've noticed that it seems to do better with a fresh file structure though... If you have 4K / 24/60, then switch to 120, you'll likely have issues. My advice would be to switch cards before you do the slow motion recording. I find this incredible whack and disappointing though. Canon should have went with CFast Cards.
