@BlaineWestropp1 Жыл бұрын
I really need to try that moment adapter. How do you like it?
@BlaineWestropp1 Жыл бұрын
How wide can you go with the moment? Where do you start to see a vignette?
@Q_Basic Жыл бұрын
I think it’s a great adapter but the widest you can go is 35mm (prime). I’ve tried a canon FD zoom (35-105) and the widest with a zoom is about 40. If you are shooting raw or dci then you get quite a bit of vignetting at 35 but if you’re shooting UHD it’s fine. If you could go a bit wider it would be a must have for anyone with a set of vintage primes.

Damn what a set up. You got any demos or tests? 😍
@Q_Basic Жыл бұрын
@@willfulmattergonefr nothing worth sharing as yet. I tried the lens with various taking lenses and spent some time getting the right follow focus and matte box rig to work with it. I’m planning on putting something together in the next couple of months though. Along with some lighting set ups I want to test out.

URSA G2 Owner, Leica R Owner.... While FX6 is everywhere, I recently shot with the C70, and had to shoot with company owned old C300 MK2.... Shadow roll off, colors and DR (for C70) blows the FX6 to me..... C70 is less than 4000$ on the used market right now... wow.

Interesting to see the vignetting improve pretty drastically when you stopped down. I haven't noticed that on my set, wondering if it's bc of the speed booster?
@BlaineWestropp1 Жыл бұрын
most lenses will vignette on large sensors (or a speed booster simulating a large sensor). Less noticeable on S35.
@grantmacallister Жыл бұрын
@@BlaineWestropp1 I know image circle is a big factor vs physical sensor size. I've shot with my Leica Rs on FF C500mk2 regularly (without speed booster) and haven't noticed vignetting. But if it were a Vista Vision sensor for example, I'm sure it's a different story.
@BlaineWestropp1 Жыл бұрын
It is often hard to notice vignetting unless you compare 2 to 5.6 for example. The speed booster may have been causing more of a vignette though.. I am not certain.

Are the later series (>38xxxx) too sharp, and better to get the older ones to get the organic look?

@@BlaineWestropp1 alexa of course is out of reach but i am wondering if having the a7iv if jumping to red komodo or c70 would be really an improvement in the colors or dynamic range. theoretically yes but how much difference ;)
@BlaineWestropp1 Жыл бұрын
I have not used the a7iv (have used the fx3) so I can’t say for sure. But with Komodo and c70 you are going to s35 sensor, but can use a speed booster. Both have raw. C70 has internal nd and a nice audio interface, an great autofocus. Komodo has global shutter which is really awesome. I think both will be an improvement on image quality.
@RafalGendarz Жыл бұрын
@@BlaineWestropp1 yes a7iv and fx3 are very similar in video quality. interesting thanks. what i would like to get is less digitial more filmic look. i think a7iv or even fx6 has something digital, i think it is in the shadows rolloff.
@BlaineWestropp1 Жыл бұрын
The c70 has a less digital feel. Sometimes I use a 1/8 promist. The thing I like about the Sony cameras is that they are so easy to travel with, and I can very easily use it with the body only and a lens.
