Even if your not shooting into the sun the version 3 is much sharper, bigger difference then I thought it would be. Watch Tony Northrop's video comparing the IQ between the two.

Hey thanks for the awesome video on the new version 3 canon 2.8 zoom lens. I'm going to be getting more into the photography world. I bought a new EOS 90D last June and I'm looking for a nice lens to go into it. I'm hoping the lens fits just fine. Please let me know. Or if there's an adapter I'll need. Thanks again. I just bought this lense for my 90D but keep in mind it is a crop sensor camera and istead of 70-200 it will be somwhere around 112-312.

Hi sir. I just bought Canon EF 70 200mm f2.8 III from Best Buy. But it only has 2 mode of image stabilizer, and when I turn on the stabilization, I feel vibration on my hand due to the motor. Is that normal? I feel like they use mark ii lens and put mark III on the lens name.

I would like to shoot dogs moving in an outdoor show ring with a 7D mark ii and the 70-200 2.8 III lense. What settings do you recommend to a newbie?

Fstop 8 Shutter 400 and iso 100 just a guess though

remember, if you have a crop sensor lets say 1.6 ...your 200mm will get you more of a reach. So that said... 1.6x200mm you'll now have a 320mm lens. So to freeze motion, your shutter speed should be over 1000/320th. then you can play with your iso and F-stop for proper exposure

If i am using 70-200mm f/2.8L IS III USM lens with extender 2x iii, then how much maximum aperture will I get as I heard extender effects the aperture of lens?

A 2x extender will take 2 stops giving you a max aperture of 5.6 on this lens. I'll be buying this lens shortly and a 2x extender to put on my 200 2.8 prime giving me a 640mm 5.6 on a 7D3.

Hi there, it seems there's some reviews comparing the spec sheet stating that the IS in the Mk II version is better with 4-stops whilst Mk III version only has 3.5-stops. Is that true?

They are the same. The rating specs changed, not the IS

Ravi my apologies for not catching this sooner but my weekend was kind of crazy. I do not know of any filters which will duplicate the effects of internal optic coatings. It's just one of those things where we buy the technology of the day in our price points an just have to deal with it.

Canon discontinues service on old lenses after a half dozen years or so. If you are buying a new lens in the $2k range, it makes zero sense to buy a lens that the mfg will not service a handful of years from now, where the new one will be serviced at least for the next decade+.
