Still an amazing camera. 1300 bucks you can buy one and its still a beast for shooting sports etc. Remember film days 10fps was the top with the 1v. I can shoot with one hand, with the 50. :)

Yes, the Canon 1DX model is great for wildlife photography. It has a very high ISO rating for low light shooting at dusk and dawn and also an extremely fast burst rate of 14 frames per second to help ensure you get the shot when your subjects are active. The 7D is also a worthy model. It has a burst rate of 8fps and, with the 1.6 x magnification factor it gives an edge to all the telephoto lenses you could use with it.

The Delphin 1D Sport Housing from AquaTech is designed to work with the Canon 1DX and is designed for surf photography, rated to 33'. B&H # AQD1DC1DX1DC. For scuba, check out the Nauticam NA-1DX housing. The camera is great for underwater. But it is important to be extremely close to your subject. Please contact us via e-mail if you have additional questions: askbh{at}bandh{dot}com. Mark S.

I don't see what you're seeing but that's subjective. However, you need to go and shoot with this brilliant camera and look at the RAW files for yourself before you call it out. Trust me, the files you get out of this thing are unreal. You don't need to shoot it at 12fps in AI servo to get why this camera is fantastic.

Can you use a remote to take pictures on the camera ???
@BandH3 жыл бұрын
Yes. Use a wireless remote shutter release: Vello FreeWave Plus Wireless Remote Shutter Release for Canon - B&H # VERWIIC: bhpho.to/3FKw4QT >Mark< Trigger your camera's shutter wirelessly with the FreeWave Plus Wireless Remote Shutter Release from Vello, a lightweight remote control system that will help you avoid unwanted camera movement. This 2.4 GHz model is compatible with Canon cameras and will work both wired and wirelessly up to 320', depending on your own needs and setup. This makes it useful for photographing wildlife or for macro and long exposures where it is necessary to eliminate any chance of camera shake.

@telemaq7610 жыл бұрын
for a canon shooter it still interesting, if you can have one used for 4000$ . photographers who buy a 1DX probably already have thousands of dollars of canon lenses and don t care about D4S . and sure a Mark 2 will be out one day. will be presented in 2015, then very soon, but between the presentation and the day the camera is the shop it can be very long. then if you need a 1Dx now, buy it, you can t go wrong, it will be a great camera for years...ANd 1DC is a 1DX ...with 4K recording, that s all

question you said 14 fps shooting a fixed subject but if its a sports camera things will be moving so i dont understand 14 fps fixed focus
@BandH4 жыл бұрын
When using the Super High-Speed Continuous Shooting mode, the camera's mirror is locked in the "UP" position. As such, this blocks light from reaching the camera's autofocus sensor. Due to this, the camera will only be able to focus on the first image before the mirror is locked in the "UP" position. This would be beneficial if your subject is standing in a fixed position, such as trying to capture a golfer's swing to analyze their swing, or trying to analyze a batter's swing, or other situations where there is little to no movement by the person performing the action. If you are trying to photograph a subject moving laterally across your frame, or moving toward/away from the camera, or a subject with unpredictable movement, then I would un-check the option next to the Super High-Speed Continuous Shooting option and just use the regular High-Speed Shooting Mode option, which would allow you to photograph at 12 frames per second with autofocus capability between images.

B&H Photo Video so what’s the point of 14fps if you can’t shoot a basketball game or motocross or runway I think it’s a little deceiving on the cameraspart Because of the subject is dead and steal you could just use a regular camera instead of 14 frames per seconds correct
@BandH12 жыл бұрын
There is no Nikon D4X currently and no Nikon cameras shoot 4K video yet. 4K video is a higher end format, 4x the resolution of 1080 HD. People are starting to use it more frequently for filmmaking due to the much higher quality output. Dana G. askbh{at}bandh{dot}com

A Nikon D4X hasn't even been announced. As for the Nikon D4, I feel that the Canon 1D-X beats it. I'm not a Canon fanboy. I think the Nikon D800 beats the Canon 5D MkII, and the Nikon D600 beats the Canon 6D. However, the Canon 1D-X beats the currently-released Nikon D4 (and perhaps the D4X, too...which they say might only have 6 fps, for example). Canon did very well here (except for the price), although some other models are a bit behind the curve.

Can you shoot 14fps at a fashion show
@BandH4 жыл бұрын
Yes, the original Canon 1DX was capable of shooting up to 14 FPS in High Speed Mode. However, it is now discontinued. The current version is the Canon 1DX Mark III,B&H # CAE1DX3 which is capable of shooting up to 2o FPS. That being said, it can definitely work for shooting in a fashion runway scenario. bhpho.to/3ag7FT8

I have never, nor will I ever shoot video from a camera body whose original design was for 35mm film. For video I shoot a Canon Vixia HF G40. It shoots 1080i HD and has optical zoom. Dual SD card slots, and much more. I don't shoot 4k because 4k monitors and TVs haven't saturated the market just yet. When the majority of users have 1080 playback why record in 4K it is an unnecessary expense.

Rather a Nikon D4X than this one... doesn't even do 4K video, but they'll sell ya a literally identically built 1DC for double the price of the 1DX for 4K shooting... ridiculous. Canon are finished. @berto199911 жыл бұрын
This camera is ugly, looks like a little washing machine. The sample photos of 1Dx on the official Canon website, suck. Those ugly images are glassy, overly digitized, forcibly and artificially "disinfected"(this is a PSEUDO SHARPNESS, a false sharpness, deceptive....misleading sharpness), filtered, blurred. You can check on the Canon official website, look at the Image 3 [Bike] Image 4 [Soccer], Image 5 and Image 6 [Sprint]: these photos are crappy, horrible. And that camera costs $ 6,799.00!
