The Canon EOS 5000 (also called the Canon EOS 888) was an entry-level SLR with scene and shutter-priority shooting only. Very much designed to take photos quickly and easily, and geared toward a market that doesn't need detailed camera operational knowledge, the Canon EOS 5000 was an ideal point and shoot that could also mount high-end Canon EF lenses.
