That was very clear and concise. But do I have to go through that whole set up process each and every time I want to do a HDR bracketing? Can it not be saved to one of the custom functions?

Many thanks for the comment. That's a good question. Yes, you can save the AEB settings, ISO, shutter speed, f-stop etc. to one of the two custom registers of the 90D. You recall the settings on the mode dial labeled with C1 and C2. To save the current settings set up AEB, then enter the menu. On the yellow pages (with the wrench) there is one entry called 'Custom shooting mode'. There you can assign the settings to the custom shooting modes.

I believe there is a setting in the special scenes (SCN dial) That's an HDR backlit setting that you should be able to do the same thing someone correct me if I'm wrong

Hello Christian, Many thanks for the good hint! The SCN mode HDR Backlight Control only merges 2 shots in-camera and outputs a single image compressed in tonal values. This makes you lose control over the resulting image, as no more than 2 shots are considered and the processing is final. Also, it is not possible to shoot in RAW. The AEB method described in the video is intended to capture the widest possible dynamic range from a scene with multiple shots (3, 5, or more) and process them later in an HDR photo software like Photomatix.

Hello, I can't imagine why the viewfinder makes the camera react slow. What you can do to troubleshoot the issue, is to enable the EVF (electronic viewfinder) and display simultaneously, so there is no delay when lifting the camera to your eye. Then disable the display to check if it changes the camera's behavior speed-wise. Maybe another setting like autofocus let the camera appear slow. Switch the lens to manual to double-check if that's the cause, then change the AF (auto focus) setting to something less ambiguous, widen the focus area, and move the focus point(s) to where your subject of interest is in the frame.

Yes, you can set the self-timer with a delay of 2 seconds on the drive mode menu of the Q -menu like in the video from 3:26 on. Instead of highlighting the second High speed continuous icon, you would highlight and activate the second last self-timer icon on the right-hand side (the stop watch icon with a 2 on it).

Yes, this should be possible if you set a large aperture and a higher ISO value. Note that the camera has a maximum shutter speed of 30 seconds, which means that the maximum shutter speed in an exposure bracket is limited to 30 seconds. Values beyond this should be triggered with an external device (e.g. CamRanger).

Yes, - 2:04 press the Info button then the Q button - 2:24 set back the step settings so that it is showing only one marker - 3:18 then revert the Drive mode to Single shooting (single frame icon)

Hello Roy, To set Exposure Compensation turn the Quick Control dial, the one around the Set button. Notice how the marker on the exposure scale is moving from the zero position to the left or right. This setting remains in effect after you switched the camera off and on again. So, to revert you need to dial back the marker to the middle position.

Hi Mohammad Khezri, it seems some other setting prevents the EV range from being set. First, please check if the Mode dial is set to M (or AV). Here are a few other settings you might want to disable: flash exposure bracketing, Multi-Shot Noise Reduction, focus bracketing, or HDR mode. Otherwise, I could think of a low battery charge to prevent the AEB spacing from being set.

Hello Munro, Thanks. This is well possible. If I recall correctly this happens when the Q button is pressed when the display mode is different from the one I used in the video (e.g. in Live view it shows a different screen). When shooting the video the camera was set to factory defaults. If the Q screen does not show up as at 2:09, you might set AEB in the main menu: Menu button > First red tab (Camera), page 3. Furthermore, make sure the camera is set to M or AV, and it is not in 'movie' mode. BTW, the Citizen Kane shot worked out quite well!

Canon 90D has a Built in HDR feature in settings, its way better. No need for post processing, thanks for the tips though! But this is good if your trying to take multi photos. The HDR feature does make you wait a couple seconds
