Canon Eos or Sony Alpha - Which Cheap Camera Would I Buy for TRAVEL A6000 vs 700D

I have a Sony a6000. Picture quality great. For the in camera audio, it has an annoying buzz even if it had an external plug in mic. No mic access, No flip out screen to frame your shot is a big let down for the one man band selfie youtuber. Be prepared to know how to use a recorder for video audio and fixing in editing (even if you know how is a deterrent to being consistent). Be prepared to figure an alternate for framing yourself in the shot. A photographers camera, not for selfies. For selfie style newbies get a camcorder. OR use your cell phone.

If you are a vlogger then the 700D but as a canon shooter I would get the A6000 but it was top end and the 700D was a low end so I believe the Sony would have some features the canon doesn’t

With a BG-E5 battery grip, which unfortunately adds weight and bulk, but better handling with larger lenses, the Canon 700D can be operated with any conventional AA batteries, the most common in the world. The Sony can ONLY be operated with it's Li-Ion rechargeable batteries. Great video!

For stabilizing, heavy camera is easier to hold without shaking it, so sony would be more shaky and it's not stabilizer problem, you can double check without stabilizer and see it for yourself

Bro' after 12 minutes of video the SONY overheats and shuts down. bummer. also, those strap attachments rattle like crazy. and to top it off, no external mic option on the SONY. I do like the image quality of the SONY but the other factors are deal breakers, especially overheating.

Well actually you can shoot 60fps@720p on canom eos 700d if you change the video system from PAL to NTSC

Dhruv Maddirala yeah that lens would be great as a portrait lens u will need to stand pretty far back though I would suggest the 35mm or a solid 50mm for portraits 👍🏼

Dhruv Maddirala try look for a lens with the lowest f stop number for example a 50mm f1.2 would give you a lot of blurred background where as a 35mm f4 would not, in general lower the f number more blur and more better in low light situations 👍🏼hope it helps

+HE-A-L both would give you equal results it would be the lens which would be the defining difference and canon has a much larger and cheaper lens selection so canon wins in your situation 🤙🏼

Richard Check out the first video I uploaded it compares a few primes for broll etc one set of lenses I highly recommend is a set of Minolta rokkor lenses, there super sharp amazing colours and make the Sony cameras look super cinematic and on eBay they are pretty cheap I guess they are a little hidden gems of the photography world, Helios 44 58mm is also a very special lens, I will make an episode on the lenses I use while I'm away 👍🏼

Nej89 hey, if I was you I would skip both the m50 and a6000 and pay the extra for the 6300 Photography wise it’s exactly the same as the a6000 a lot better than the m50 but where it really shines is in video, so yeah a6300 everyday! 👊🏼

Guer TvShow the vintage lenses look really good on the a6000 so I would definitely advice you try and old Minolta or Helios lens, as for colour profiles I set my camera to neutral or standard and -3 contrast 0 saturation -1 sharpness 👍🏼

GauravDman 🤣funny you ask I’ve now unfortunately dropped my A6000 off its tripod onto rocks in the alps, it also feel in the street at waist height and my cheap Chinese gorilla pod snapped while I was vlogging in a waterfall in wales and the camera dropped down onto sharp rocks then settled in a pool of water!!!! And to this day it’s still going nothings failed yet just a hell of a lot is scratches lol 👍🏼

Ua Shyanon sorry I only review items that I may intend to purchase myself, the Nikon d6500 isn’t on my radar to be honest! At that price range the a6000 is pretty much an unbeatable camera in every situation! If I was you depend what you need but I would buy a used A6300 and benefit from the awesome 4K video and super fast shutter speeds high resolution and nice compact body! 👍🏼 all the best

There’s no straight answer I don’t know what it is you need in a camera but if u were asking which I would personally have then my answer would be the Sony, for the fact it shoots 11fps rather than canons 5, and it can do 60fps full had video which the canon can only do in 720p, but at the price tag I think I would choose the Sony A6300 and achieve that crisp 4K and slog profiles to give me way more dynamic range! My comment isn't in regards to the 700D. I am confused between the Canon M5 and the A6000. Any suggestions and preference? I am almost sold on the A6000 with it's picture quality and quick autofocus but I also love that Canon has a touch screen and can be used as a selfie screen. Very confused. Sabrina Liorti your going to have pretty much the same features the a6000 will out perform the canon in everything but colour science, so if u like the canon colours and don’t want to spend a long time editing then go for canon but if u want a camera that will definitely overtake the canon in features then u should buy a used a6300! But bare in mind Sony lenses are expensive canon lenses are cheaper and more plentiful! If I was u go down to your local camera store with a memory card take a selfie on both cameras and see which you prefer colour wise! If it’s about features then go Sony 👍🏼

I bought Canon 200D and I am quite happy with it... It's autofocus is also good for the price it comes for. And image quality is also good. In few days I will be posting review of 200d and I will also be sharing images. I tested 200d for face tracking and autofocus u can checkout video on my channel. I hope it will help...

dave paks sorry haven’t tested any of them, but I’m presuming it would be the same battle as the cameras in the video, canon doesn’t really truly match Sony’s abilities until you go full frame sensor, unless your willing to put magic lantern in your canon then it becomes pretty comparable 👍🏼
