These are so much fun. I use the Nikon reverse focus rings with vintage lenses. I think it produces a lot of the Lensbaby effects without the cost. Thanks, I didn't know about the Nikon G focus adapter!

How and where can I get the manual lens from? Please help. Thanks!
@FotodioxInc2 ай бұрын
You can actually use these with an lens, you just won't have as much control with auto lenses since the aperture will be locked. If you just want to use a lens to reverse mount, try looking at 28mm or 50mm Canon FD or Pentax K lenses on ebay or KEH. Both of those will be manual and will let you reverse mount for macro while also having control of aperture.

Question: I have a Canon 50mm STM f/1.8 lens, which does not have an aperture ring. As I understood you, when I reverse the lens with one of your adapters, I'd be stuck with the aperfture wide open at forementioned f/1.8. I have read that if I select any f stop, in determining correct exposure, I can lock that aperture by depressing the depth of field preview button, before reversing the lens. That is supposed to retain the aperture I desired, rather than limiting me to f/1.8. Do you concur? Thank you!
@FotodioxInc Жыл бұрын
Yes, the lens's aperture would be stuck wide open. But you can do this hack that you mentioned to lock the lens at whatever aperture you wish: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gnyki2p-mbCjo5I

Hello, I have a canon t5 and would like to know what size of the macro reverse ring I should buy for a 50mm lens.
@FotodioxInc2 жыл бұрын
Hi Sandra, it depends on how big the filter thread is on the 50mm lens you want to reverse mount. It should say on the front of the lens what mm the filter thread on the lens is.

Congratulations!!! I have a Canon 250D. Can I use a reversed Pentax 50mm manual lens? IS there any adapter?
@FotodioxInc2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, you'll just need one of our Canon EF macro reverse rings and then you'll need to buy one that has the same diameter thread as the filter thread size on the Pentax lens. Here's the link: fotodioxpro.com/products/reverse-ring-ef Just select the filter thread size you'll need in the dropdown menu. Let me know if you have any other questions.

I have been wanting to do macro for so long but i can't justify the cost of a macro lens but with this option it looks like i might be able to now, how well do the work on a super wide lens Ie. Tokina 11-16mm?

Should i be worried using this with hevier lenses? like 700g? im kinda worried it will destroy filter mount and fall
@FotodioxInc Жыл бұрын
With heavy lenses you may want to use a lens support so it's not putting all its weight on the camera mount. Or hold the camera by the lens as well as the camera.

Does the focus peeking work in reverse macro setup on EOS R?
@FotodioxInc3 жыл бұрын
If your Canon RF camera can do focus peaking with a manual lens, it will also do it with a reverse mounted lens.
@Jatinda3 жыл бұрын
I think your depth of field was greater on the manual lens not so much because it was f11 but because of the focal length. 35mm gives more depth than 24 when reversing a lens. f stop doesn't seem to make that much difference with macro photography.
@FotodioxInc3 жыл бұрын
I noticed a difference depending on the aperture, but maybe it's less pronounced on a reverse mounting?

I purchased this adapter to reverse mount Canon RF 50mm 1.8 on an EOS R, however I can not achieve any kind of focus at all. What can be the problem?
@FotodioxInc Жыл бұрын
That lens is a focus by wire lens, which means it's manual focus ring is powered by the camera's battery and needs an electric signal to adjust. It's possible that when you flipped the lens the last focus setting you had it set to is unusable in macro reverse mode. Try mounting it normally, changing the focus and removing it and reverse mounting again.
@NaturesRealm-ys3im Жыл бұрын
@@FotodioxInc I tried that but no luck. No focus near or far... It probably resets to infinity or something. Have you had success with reverse mounting RF lenses?
@FotodioxInc Жыл бұрын
@@NaturesRealm-ys3im We haven't, but we have been able to reverse mount other auto lenses like Sony E. It may just be that specific lens/focal distance that's not allowing you to get a workable macro focus range.
