Pros: 1)RAW BURST - LOVE THIS! Still can get some photos with no rolling shutter . I hope the next R5 update comes with it! 2)Tracking is amazing and it's better than my R5. Especially challenging background! 3) R7 = 1.6 Crop x RF600 X Tele 1.4 = 1344mm = More than enough! 4) High ISO well-controlled - If over ISO 6400, the bird feathers become a bit mushy! Cons: 1) Inconsistent focus with my RF600mm F4 lens but good with my RF100-500mm 2) No 3rd wheel - control ring sucks! 3) Buffer sucks! 4) 30fps - Rolling shutter + background wobble sucks!
Great review. This is entry level for wildlife photography. I already pre-ordered it but have not received it yet. I know some people press the shutter for many seconds to get action shots. I don’t. Max for me is about 2 seconds most of the time. I can also use cRaw and mechanical shutter to increase the buffer. 15 fps mechanical is plenty. Of course, I need to test it for myself.

Well, most people trashing it in the comments aren't using Canon R-bodies. As you pointed out cRAW is used instead, and 15fps mechanical shutter is more than enough. R7 with RF 100-400 is light and cost effective solution. Once the rumoured RF 15-30 arrives, lack of cheap wide angle end can be solved.

@@zegzbrutal I bet most people trashing it don’t even shoot birds or wildlife for that matter.

@@kennethlui2268 Gears aren't everything. They trash other brands to justify they are smart to use a certain brand. I couldn't be bothered to correct them one by one in the comments. (and they are certainly going to say I'm a Canon fanboy to disregard my constructive criticism
