Canon R7 is fairly superior, except for the sensor size, for the rest it is not even on the same league.

Image quality on R8 is far superior with evident greater dynamic range. Yes there's more reach on R7 but sensor size is half way down R8. It's a close call but I do think R8 has the edge.

@@OlympiaMortgageLender up till now I did not grab either cameras but from the info I got from the ones who did, the R8 has significant better image quality than the R7.

@@marcuscaruana6772 we will see, I have an r7 and just ordered the r8 as well, keeping both. I watched a dynamic range test between the two and the r7 was surprisingly great. Full frame is better in many instances however for the overall image. The r7 is a dream so far!

R7 maybe a apsc camera, but with a speed booster it will convert to a full frame. R8 is not for video, doesn't have IBIS. trust me you need it. That digital IS on the r8 crops your image . I returned my r10 cause the digital IS sucks, unless you want to carry a gimbal all the time, thats on. I'm a grab, go n shoot type of guy in/out. IBIS in the body and on the lens is important, don't listen to others who say IBIS isn't important, believe me, you'll regret it

You don't need IBIS, it does have benefits, but you do not need it. I am not even bothered to explain why, since you will not agree in any way.

The R8 digital IS despite the small crop is very good imo as far as I've seen on other review videos. I dont think I'd need more than that tbh. If needed I'd get a gimbal.

I feel like the point that digital IS crops your image doesn’t make that much sense when comparing it to the R7 because the crop factor on the R7 is already like 1.6x
