I don't have this ring flash so I do not know for sure. Supposedly it is an optical slave and as long as you have another flash or an optical controller to mount on the hotshoe and set to optical master (lightning bolt symbol), you should be able to control it.

The only possibility is that your flash does not support it. What make and model is your flash?

@@gcwalther I've heard of this problem with some Godox flashes. They do have a second curtain sync except they can't communicate it to the camera. First, you should update the flash firmware to see if it can change. Short of that, just set second curtain sync on your flash or your transmitter and it should work.

@@davidpassana1828 I've used the canon godox transmitter as well cable, I dont believe you can trigger the flash off camera as a stand alone flash. Hope this helps. Confirming canon RP, other canon bodies might be able too.

Using a godox xpro C with ad400 pro and cannot get second curtain sync in camera , pls help

In theory (I do not have the ad400), you should be able to. As you know you can't have both HSS and second curtain sync on at the same time. The only thing I can think of is to update the ad400 and xproC firmware to the latest version. The RP, being a newer mirrorless camera (compared to the DSLR) makes reverse-engineered products like Godox to become incompatible. Godox should have firmware to fix these problems.

Which flash do you have? Usually, this message shows up when the camera thinks your flash is not compatible (no communication can be had between the camera and flash). You can still make it flash. I'd recommend your getting a decent flash with ETTL. The Godox TT350C is of perfect size for the RP and only cost $85. Everything will work properly with this one (all camera communications as well as Exp Sim).

@@elwirastadnik IMHO, one does not work perfectly if it can't communicate with the camera - which means you can't control your flash via the RP flash control menu. But if you're happy, then no problem :).

I assume your camera is the EOS RP? The Godox V1 should work with the RP. I'd check and make sure the following: 1. The Godox V1 is the version made for Canon (and not for Sony, Nikon, or some other brands - they all have different hardware interfaces). 2. The flash is properly mounted and firmly tightened on the hot shoe. You might want to wiggle the flash a bit to make sure the pins connect. Also, clean the contacts. 3. The flash is powered up (turned on) and is in the proper mode (not shown Master or Slave mode) 4. On the External Speedlite Control menu, make sure Flash is enabled, and the "Flash function settings" is available and Wireless is set to "Wireless OFF"

I'm not sure what are you referring to? If you turn on high-speed sync, you can go past 180, all the way up to 1/4000. The catch will be that max flash POWER cannot be achieved.

Suppose I can make one about the touchscreen...the key issue is that our noses would touch the screen and move the cursor around...there are settings that would tell the camera to ignore certain parts of the screen where your nose is... I use the EVF mostly and you can use the touchscreen in conjunction of that. It takes some getting used to but I really love the mirrorless compared to DSLRs...

I want to know too. I have the Eos RP with the latest firmware 1.6.0 and a Godox TT600 and XPro-C trigger on my camera. I get banding when shooting over 200th shutter speed 😢 even when in High speed sync mode on both trigger and flash. Can someone help me or explain to me why or what to do?

bro i bought x2t trigger and tt685 flash and when i connect those and took a picture in manual mode ,iso aperture are set in manual but the exposure in picture doesnt changes when i change shutter speed the preview is always properly exposed but when i took picture it changes in picture..?

Normally the preview will change when you press and hold the shutter button half way to show the flash effect. Make sure you have Exposure Simulation enabled. If it's already on, it is possible that the RP does not know how to simulate the power of this flash (which is a manual flash without ETTL). By the way, you should know that changing shutter speed only affects changes caused by the ambient light and not the flash since the flash pulse is so short.

@@elwirastadnik It's a matter of preference but you should have it on. Unlike the DSLR, the Canon mirrorless, including the RP. with Exp Sim on, will show the effect of the flash when you press the shutter button half way.

Hi Brian, I think the 470ex-ai is not capable of being a master, hence no wireless menu. It is capable of being an optical slave and not a radio (RF) slave.

@@bsant7 Hi Bryan, none of the R series cameras has a built-in transmitter (which is the built-in flash). Many Canon flashes have a built-in transmitter but not this one, unfortunately. I have a few videos that talk about optical control and RF control...look them up sometimes.

@@MasRofiq I am not sure what banding people are talking about? Can you give some examples? There were some problems with using certain brands of flashes early on but all of that had been fixed by the flash manufacturers and/or Canon.

@@TonghoPhotography yeah, i read in some article, the eos rp flash sync issue (that cause Black horizontal strip shadows) has solved by the new firmware update (1.2.0) And what is your eos rp firmware version ? Maybe the newest version, so you don't find that problem.
