I love compact cameras. I had a full frame, 6DMkII, never used it, because I like landscape photography and big cameras are a hassle to carry. I sold it. I also have sensor dust anxiety, so a weather sealed fixed lens is very appealing. And this particular Canon sensor has an amazing dynamic range. Oh my, I'm itching to buy it.

For $1,299, despite the portability and APSC sensor, the lens should have been faster. f2.8-5.6 just won't cut it in low light. They should have made it f1.8-4.0. And they could have extended the focal lens to 24-100.

And you get a big paperweight that will remain at home for the robber to take away. Trust me, it happened to my Sony R1; my Fujifilm X100s was a job to bring along not only to me but to my nephews and so great to carry around.

Priced dropped to $1099. Seems like Canon to notice to all the people saying the price was to high. Now this is on the a better price rage for what you are getting. They should drop it to $999. I now I'm looking back at this camera, I think it will pan out good in the end once more people get it. Getting the seems better for someone like me who was looking at the G5X, the price drop has made it a option.

That's more of a real camera, and out of the point and shoot category. I'm just looking to get a good point and shoot to upgrade from my smart phone that I can keep in my pocket. Something to have on me all the time, to replace the camera phone. The M50 is a amazing for sure, I wish the G1X mark iii came close to it. It damn well should for the price.

WE WERE: Looking for it with Viewfinder, mic, 4k, rotated screen, more low light facility, wifi, bluetooth, 24+ megapixel , 25x zoom, as a minimum demanding for such a price.

It has a leaf shutter which is very very quiet, but not totally silent like an electronic shutter. Out on the street you won't be able to hear it, unless you got your eye up against the eye piece.

I was very happy until you said nothing about viewfinder which transforms a camera into a useless stuff compared to a stupid mobile phone in sunny days garbage. No 4k it's also bad, not mic? In that case i will never buy it. Yes a camera without a rotating screen never mind how good or expensive, it's only crap. Very good and useful video

i know nothing about cameras but half of the people say it’s too expensive and half day it needs a better lenses etc it is what it is stop complaining 😂 it’s a 1200 camera with the specs if you want a cheaper camera there’s surely many options for your crying ass
