Well righnt now I was using nikon z50, but lately due to firmware issue and lag, I feel a bit distressed using it and also thought about upgrading my camera to full frame mirrorless. But ive been confused with both of these options z6iii and A7R5, u recently rented z6iii and yeah what you just told that buttons feeling all the 'meshy spongy' I can fully confirm that it is true but its kinda hypocrisy that my z50 nikon buttons are not like that, it got the feel to it and click to it. Strange, but I've been meaning to ask you in terms of photography while traveling and ease of use or ease of handling its body. Which of both cameras would you suggest to me? I've been using z50 for like 5 years and wanted somewhat like that camera with the body thats easy to hold. So guide me thru if you can.

The analog outputs of the camera are meant to connect it to a TV. If you are capturing to a computer why don´t you use the digital (IEEE1394) output? you are completely missing the point of a Digital 8 camera.

Before I got really into photography I only had compact cameras and bridge cameras. So I didn't have any, lets say, burdens from the past when I made the choice for a camera system for bird photography. Initially I wanted to buy the Canon R7 with the 100-500mm lens. However, the fact that Canon restricted 3rd party lenses for the RF system to lenses without autofocus capabilities was a huge turn-off for me. Also the price point which sets you back nearly 5K Euros only for that single camera/lens combination. That's the reason I went with a Sony A7R III and a Sony 200-600mm. Which already paid off, considering how many different lenses from different manufacturers I have (Sony, Sigma, Tamron). Considering the feel of the body of the A7R V which is my second Sony body that I bought for its better autofocus: In one review comparing the two cameras the reviewer said that both bodies are about the same, with the A7R V only slightly thicker than the R III. Which is true but this little bit makes a big difference in your hands. The A7R III feels perfect and I love to hold it. The A7R V OTOH feels a bit weird.

Interesting insights. As far as body design, the A9III body is the new king. It’s a better design. Just the right size… very ergonomic. I prefer it to my Canon R1. I can’t get behind the 12,800 ISO on the Sony cameras… it’s too mushy for my liking due to the heavy noise reduction. I much prefer the A9III at high ISOs. As for AF, my A9III is far superior to my Canon R1… especially for talking head type videos. I have high hopes for 2025… particularly for the upcoming S1H2.

@shang-hsienyang12843 күн бұрын
The third party lens cripple of 15fps only applies to a1 and a9 users. How is he supposed to talk about it if his primary focus is video or taking photos with the a7RV which only shoots at 10fps? By the way, the a1 and a1II only shoot at 20fps if you want to shoot at focus priority. The a9 and a9II would only shoot 12fps for lossless formats. If you check the prices of Tamron lenses made for Z mount, they are noticeably more expensive than the E mount. The Nikon tax is more real.
@JET-Photo3 күн бұрын
@ all Sony cameras are slower with 3rd party lenses. The ones that shoot 10fps are only at 5-7 for at best with 3rd party lenses. E mount is way past its prime. And the whole point is, if you’re a Sony shooter why do you have to use Nikon or Canon to justify your Sony cameras? Sony cameras do the job but they are lifeless machines. Sony shooters know this and constantly have to find things wrong with the competition to make themselves feel better.
@shang-hsienyang12843 күн бұрын
@@JET-Photo what's lifeless is your photography skills so don't blame the machine. There's no such thing as artificially slowing down to 5-7fps. Sony camera by default are set at a balance between focus and release priority. Therefore it will not take the shot if the focusing element isn't shifted to the right place yet. If you set it to release priority it will always shoot at 10fps. Nikon was an innovative brand decades ago. However, for nearly 40 years it has been copying Canon and then Sony, stealing the results of others. Nikon fans are even more toxic. Thanks to the internet we can still find the absurd words of Nikon fans from early 2000. Nikon fanboys have dismissed every innocations from leaving the film header out, a function not available until the F6, to image stabilization, CMOS sensors (Nikon used to use inferior CCD technology), full frame sensors (until the "D3 moment"), sensor stabilization, flip out screens, swivel screens, EVF, USB charging, mirrorless cameras, dual card slots (during the Z6/Z7 era), third party lenses (until the deal with Tamron), and the list goes on. Imagine if Nikon and Nikon fanboys got their ways. Cameras would suck.

I had an A7R2 and moved over to Nikon (first Z6, then Z8). Nikon just "reads my mind" better. Another advantage of Nikon is the _much_ bigger flange. That bodes well for lens design. Nikon just doesn't have to work around the narrow throat issues that Sony has to work around. If I could change anything about Z8, I'd make it smaller and lighter. Not as small as Sony perhaps, just a touch smaller. Also the auto WB leaves a lot of imaging performance on the table, but then that is true of A7 too. I find that most of the time I either have to set specific WB (e.g. sunlight in sunlight), or better yet, calibrate using a target. Somehow Z6 nailed auto WB much better than Z8.

I have used many Sony cameras and moved on to Nikon and I can for sure say I prefer using a Nikon camera (Z 8 and Z 6III) way more than I enjoyed using a Sony. This video was a joke in my own opinion. What was the objective of this video? Best comment so far…he did the same with the Z8 review…not even a review but more of a chance to use his platform to put his beloved Sony on a pedestal while diplomatically bashing Nikon. If you like Sony, then just shoot Sony. No need to compare. I like Canon and Nikon but I never. Bash Sony. I do bash Sony users who feel the need to beat their chest and talk about other brands in the comments and in their videos. These are tools that we use to perform a craft and if that tool works for you, use it. If not, move on. End of story. One last thing…I have been in the game for 18 yrs so far and all the advancements in the industry have made people think that anyone can be a photographer. You can have the perfect camera with the perfect auto focus and perfect colors but if you don’t have the skill set which is personality when dealing with people at events or the knowledge of where to be and the knowledge of lighting and composition, then you are just a computer operator.
@marcusalanphotography6943 күн бұрын
@ no one needs to see you praise anything…the fact that you shoot one brand and have a familiarity with it and then rent something and then bash it because it doesn’t work like what you have speaks more about you than it does the product. If this is how you choose to do your thing though, do it. It is making your Sony fans happy in the end and that is what I take from this video and you. I am a Canon and Nikon fan but have nothing against Sony until I see videos like this. Kinda makes it hard to like the brand when people always feel the need to compare to make the brand look better. But, again I say do you. Happy Holidays
@johncarlan3 күн бұрын
I'd have to agree I think there is way more hidden bias going on in some of these comparisons, maybe from lack of product knowledge. I am admittedly a Nikon fanboi, but I use all kinds of cams for work. Nikon was behind in video features until the Z9, Z8 and Z6iii but have caught up at this point, and surpassed many if we are being objective. I also own an S5iix, and shoot with FX3's for work occasionally. They all perform very well, Sony having the slight edge on autofocus, size/weight, and a big edge in higher base ISO's for better low-light (12800 base IS amazing). The Z8 has far better codec options allowing it to be used for many different applications, but in all honesty... I much prefer the footage of the S5iix over all of them, despite it having the "worst" focus of them all, and being pretty comparable to the Z8 for low-light. There is something about Vlog and the focus pulling on the Lumix kills Sony/Nikon/Canon. N-RAW is actually pretty amazing if you grade it without Nikons trash LUTS, RED's are better. N-Log and S-Log I find to be comparable when exposed correctly. In other words, these are all perfectly usable cameras if you know how to use a camera, and almost everything is a nit-pick at this point, unless its simply user-preference. But the Z6iii and Z8 destroy them all as hybrids.
@AsuquoTravelsProductions3 күн бұрын
@@connormccaskill Well this Z 6III video just felt like you had a serious beef with Nikon because the entire video was more about finding non-issues than even saying what you like about it. The Sony camera you used to compare with the Z 6III costs over 5k and yet beyond the 61 megapixels resolution, I don’t see anything that camera beats the Nikon on. The A7RV got an unusable 8K with the worse rolling shutter. When it comes to autofocus I have not had any issues with the camera as I shoot a lot of events plus run and gun in lowlight with no issues. Like I stated earlier, take your time to understand how the Nikon system works and you will surely see that all the hate is just unnecessary.

Brace yourself, Nikon stans incoming.... But seriously, I think you've made great points in the video. When I bought a Z30, I was scrathing my head at what Nikon users were talking about regarding the menu being so much better than Sony's. It's not bad, but it seems more like a menu you'd only think is good once you're used to it, and it's certainly not leagues above Sony's. In contrast, Canon's menu was really intuitive even as a new user. That said Nikon's quick menu is stellar. I personally think the lack of third control wheel is a design choice (I could be wrong though), and I'd really love if Nikon started including one. Also it's a very small nitpick, but rotating anti-clockwise to lock the lens into the mount is very unintuitive, I wish Nikon changed this when they were designing the Z mount. The video specs, IBIS, AF, chunky body all seem fire on the Z6III though, and if I were picking today I'd probably get the Z6III for the $2500 ish range.

With that in mind, I notice that many Sony cameras don't even have any function buttons on the front. So for me, I'd point to that area and say, "there should be a few function buttons". :) 10:25 What I will also say is that saying that 24MP is enough for social media is... sorry, but it's a bit ridiculous.
